ok, this may be just a vent coming on, but,...

what is the deal with the lock boxes???

I sent off my I-130 packet on the 8th of December and my check isn't even cashed yet.

Now, I know I may just be a bit impatient. Hmmm,....a BIT? lol.

But I can't believe that this hold up is happening.

Do you know I am actually PRAYING for my check to be cashed?? That sounds c.r.a.z.y

Me WANTING my money to be taken.

Now I know I am in the IMMIGRATION TWILIGHT ZONE.

Hi Im sorry to hear about your wait. Just wondering, did you hear about "direct filing" that went into effect July 30, 2007 (same day of fee increase). I sent out my I-130 in May..waited and waited for NOA1 for approx 2months..It still didnt show up (due to ..hmmm..uscis pulls excuse out of excuse hat.. oh glitch in the system..blah blah blah) so I filed I-129F with other evidence (copy of check cashed, online status letter, delivery rcpt) on July 3. Waited...it went from Chicago to Missouri to CSC. It arrived there in August blink.gif mad.gif Found out I couldve sent it directly to CSC, even if direct filing didnt go into effect yet. This may not be of help to you now..but wanted you and maybe any other reader to know that it will get cashed and processed but there may be a little delay added. As for NOA1.. looks like theres still delays for many. Once your check is cashed.. look at back of it (get copy from your bank) and look for your case number there. It will have 3 letter followed by 10 digits. example: WAC0123456789. Once you get it.. if it was recently cashed.. it may take a week to view online your online status.

My prayers go out to all of you in waiting. Stay focused, postively occupied, and in love. Im at a different phase now..and still waiting. I lose focus too.. then do all I can to get it back. Thanks to God, He is my main source of help along with my husband and those dear to me.

Aloha,
gwen

P.S.- My I-130 NOA1 arrived 5 months after I filed it..and I rcvd only by email request. Info found on USCIS website. For me, Im glad I finally didnt wait for it..2 months earlier was better than 5 anyday.

aiwa hun,

We had both applications file dand received back in August - sent to TSC then on to CSC or wherever.....but giving it sorta a rest till after holidays and hopefully they get their act caught up some. I mean it cant go on forever...ummm can it kicking.gif , but will wait till mid January and if nothing in system, then will try refiling the I-129f i think.

Yes but was told by many including lawyer, professsor and even USCIS IO that the checks will maybe be cashed after data entry but when I do call, I go right through to IO and they check the system for me, so as of Friday, de nada. Oh well, nothing to do now but wait till after holidays.

Best to you and yours this season.

Cheers

Susie and alot of others in same boat

I am wondering if I should just withdraw my app, get my money back and simply go live with my hubby in his country for 6 months THEN file from their (Gambia -West Africa).

I have been told so many "un-truths" by the reps. lol.

Such as....

#1- That I would still need to come back to the U.S. to file no matter what.
#2- That I could file from their (Gambia) directly if the consulate allows it.
#3- That as long as I have 3 years of taxes and current income in the U.S., I could file from their.
(But, that seems strange cause if I have to be a resident for 6 months in Gambia to even file, that would mean that I wouldn't be working for a U.S. company as a direct employee.)

Whew, this is all so confusing.

Anyway, anyone have any idea's. At this point, I am seriously considering just finding a buddy pass from someone who works at the airline and just going to my hubby until USCIS decides to make a move on our paperwork or give a truthful answer.

By the way, I know we are all waiting in line and patiently, I just think that if USCIS is gonna go up on the fee's, it should atleast be a way to track and give a halfway correct timeline and TRUTHFUL answers.

I am venting, but does it seem fair to go up on fee's and give worse service than before?? I could be more patient if I weren't being lied to. This is crazy,...why can't they just say "I don't know".?? That is better than a lie.

Hmmmmm....

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. lol

Direct filing- yes I filed directly to CSC and still waiting for NOA for over 100 days
DCF – staying at the home country and filing their could be faster (it depends on the country,, for India its faster )
K3- most of the DCF are for K-3 ( as far as I know) so you will still have to do AOS when the spouse gets to U.S
If I could get off form work for 6 months then I would have only filed through DCF

You cannot DCF for a K3. Consulates abroad can accept I130s, so you can only DCF for a CR1/IR1. They cannot accept I129Fs, that must be filed to the appropriate USCIS service center in the states.

Leedah,
You can DCF, put you can't just have stayed with your husband on a visitors visa for 6 months. You must have some residency status in Gambia that allows you to remain there and then after living there for the 6 months, DCF away.

Many are having a problem with apps sent to the Chicago address that replaces CSC being returned as no such address. Those who have been leaving off the last 4 digits of the zip code (the +4 numbers) are getting theirs delivered.

I called uscis yesterday and was told that should be done in 2 or 3 weeks and have the NOA1's (I-130) issued.

Hmmm.... we'll see if that is "real talk".

I WAS transferred to an actual immigration officer who went through the motions of checking for my name in the system (non-existent). sooooo I can say that this MAY be the actual truth.

Like I said, we'll see.

Wow surprised at that goodie or maybe not.....I guess the contractor must have gotten their act together and taken
over for what I know is that so many from late July, August, September and forward and forward and so forth have not received anything as of yesterday (anything equates to a NOA1) and I have learned that the IO (immigration officers) have no clue either about what is going on. They just laugh when I call, cause I have the CSR speech monoluge down to a drowned out rat, and once I get to the IO I just say hun, check the system. They are number 2 on speed dial now, crap what happened to my life lol....just kidding

Waiting game, oh yes......good luck to you and Happy New Year
