This is an update to a previous post.
My fiancee and I expect to have an interview for the K-1 Visa by early-Feb, so ideally should could come here before end of Feb. Our issues is that her brother is having a wedding in Japan in early May '08, and everything I'm hearing about I-131s and APs will not give us enough time. If we are legally/civilly married in America by early March and apply for AOS & AP, that is barely 60days.
Does anyone have experience of applying for an Emergency Advanced Parole? I did speak with a rep from the USCIS, and they said only Life-or-Death cases will they give an Emergency AP. Any idea what kind of evidence or proof we would have to show why we are traveling? Hospital letters or something?

Whether you are granted an emergency Advance Parole (AP) document entirely depends on the local office and the officer you speak with. Some have received it with barely any evidence and some have been denied, or been put through the wringer, before receiving it. In my own case, I presented letters from the attending physician and the hospital. Unless you have a really easy-going officer you can pretty much guarantee that they will not consider a wedding an emergency. The beneficiary has six months to use the visa from point of issue. You are better off to delay the US entry until after the wedding.

seems like it's too risky to apply for an Emergency AP if we don't have a true emergency.
