Might want to check in the regional forum for Middle East and North Africa. You will probably get better/faster info there.

Yes, your husband has to go through a medical exam to prove that he doesn't have HIV or any STD's and also he will have to do chest X-ray. Also, if he wasn't vaccicanted against what they want him to be vaccicanted from, he can get the shots taken at the hospital that's required by the US embassy. You can't just walk into any hospital and get this done.

There's Al Shrouk Hospital in Mohandiseen for the US embassy medical exam. Get him to go there and get is done. It takes upto a week to get the medical exam results.

Hi!!
I was just in Egypt with my fiance and went with him to his medical exam. I dont know if it is different for the K1, but he needed to take passport photos with him to the exam. We saw the MD first and since he too had no record of his immunizations they gave them all to him again! LOL He had a chest Xray at the hospital and then we had to go to ANOTHER place across town for the bloodwork. He then had to go back and pick up the results about a week later to send to the embassy! Good luck to the both of you and wish u a speedy journey!! smile.gif

He should have vaccination certificate on him from the hospital he got vaccinated from. That's what happened to me and I had vaccination certificates on me from a while ago that were still good for a while and I showed them to the doctor at the hospital and she said it's good I have had all these vaccinations taken already otherwise they would have had to give it to me there.

Your husband can go to Vacsera clinic and get vaccinated there and they do give vaccinationg certificates. It's located by the end of 6 of October bridge on Al Batal Ahmed Abd El Aziz street as you head to Mohandiseen. Very good and clean clinic there. If he's wiliing to get vaccinated against hapetites A&B, then he should ask for Twinrex vaccine that's one shot for both A&B together instead of doing one shot for each.

Good luck,

R.

Forgot to tell you that the vaccination certificates should be both sealed and signed by the doctor who your husband was seen by for the shots.
