Happy Saturday (caturday, but I don't have any cat pics)

I'm feeling alot better today... I just needed a little freak out I'll just be happy when he gets here.

Oh, I also went on a 5 hr cleaning spree last night and even cleaned all the baseboards in the appt. It helped

whats christmas crunch?! sounds yummy just by the name!

today is my big day to spend with my husband...but of course he's still sleeping.(it IS only 7:30 though. hehe) my mattress sucks so i wake up everyday early because of backpain. today i think we'll go shop for a new one! i can't take it anymore!!!

welcome to the world of kitties, jackie! i just took mine to the vet the other day...and it turns out his thyroid his hyperactive through the ROOF! and now he also has liver damage (a side effect of thyoid problems) so now he needs this radioactive therapy and it supposidely cures it! *crosses fingers* my poor boy!!!!

I was looking online for a Persian kitten to buy. They were all in the $700-$1000 range. One of my friends at work suggested the local shelter. I left work yesterday and stopped there. I looked thru all the cages and at the very last cage, lay a beautiful Himalayan kitty. She was so scared in that cage. I held her and she crawled up in my arms and looked at me with these big, round eyes. I knew she was going home with me. $35 later, we were in my car heading home. Had to stop at Walmart and get a litterbox and food. Oh, and a brush. This cat has fur that is 4 inches long.
Her eyes were all crusty and her fur had a few mats, so last night I brushed her a bit and then she got a good nights sleep. Today will be more primping.

so cute!congrats, jackie! i had a himalayan once...her name was cleopatra. you gotta brush those kind of kitties a loooooooooot. my kitty used to get dingleberries and it was nasty. haha!

I LOVE the kitty Jackie! Is she a seal point Himalayan? She looks like she is already the queen! I really wish I wasn't so allergic to cats. It's so strange how I grew up with cats (my parents bred Persian cats) and now if I'm in the same room with with for a while, my eyes swell up and I break out in hives! Yesterday when I walked out my front door there was a beautiful cat sitting there looking like it was about to run into my house. It was very dark gray(looked like a blue Persian color) with big gold eyes, and it's hair was mid length. Didn't look like it was too old. Reminded me of a cat we had when I was growing up. I layed in bed last night thinking "I wonder if I do this or that if the cat will still kill me!" Maybe if I get a cal I can desensitize myself to it. My kids really need a pet besides turtles.

It's snowing here again. YUCK! The kids want snow ice cream so I think we'll make that shortly. Hope everyone has a great day!

Awww, she is adorable!!! We had Himalayans when I was growing up! We actually had one with the same colors as yours and her name was Mommy Fluff. Actually, her name was just Fluff.... until she had babies Then her name was Mommy Fluff She had three babies, Gwen and Arthur were both blonde and Burt II was chocolate brown - gorgeous. The hair is a pain though, but so pretty.


My mom is having a gingerbread house decorating party for all of my nieces and nephews, sans parents... so I volunteered to go help out. Then hopefully I'll finish up my Christmas shopping before it starts to snow... again!

I love snow ice cream!!

Last year, I did gingerbread cookies with Alexis and oh my was that a mess! Good luck with the house! Post pics.

Jackie thats a purty kitty you got!

Jackie - I think you should name her Princess! She looks like a queen in training. Very elegant & royal. I had Persians a long time ago and I would take them to the vet/groomer every 2 or 3 months to have their butts shaved to alleviate the whole dingleberry situation! It was a huge help!

Sereia, I'll post the Christmas Crunch recipe a little later.... it's yummy - the perfect blend of sweet and salty!

Awwww Jackie she's adorable !! I love the "points" on Siamese and Himalayans.... they are such beautiful, elegant cats. And they have a lot of personality -- these kitties are real characters ! I'm so glad you found her

My sister brought coffee and donuts this morning and left us a gingerbread house kit so while it's snowing out tomorrow that is what we'll be doing. Going out to do some last minute shopping and to stock up on food since the weather outside will be frightening tomorrow. lol.

Signed up for verizon wireless last night and got three new phones. I can't wait to get them! I've been waiting so long for my att/cingular to finally expire.

Well she looks to me like she's already taken over the house. She also reminds me of those luscious hand-stitched puffs that come in a new powder box. So for a name perhaps Powder Puff. Alternately, if she's got attitude (what cat doesnt?) call her Mena (I used to know a guy whose cat was called Mena, short for mean as hell.

This little mama indulged herself in a new set of claws. I havent had my nails done in the salon in years, since I type so much at work and the nails make things go slower. But now that Im on maternity leave I can have my lovely pink-tipped digits all glamorous It was a huge morale booster for me. I was so depressed yesterday after my last day at work. Its nice to treat myself.

this should be an interesting week. Maybe I should put scrooge back up in my avatar.

My daughter noticed that there was a strange noise coming from the basement so I went down to check it out and there's a huge puddle under my oil burner. Now.....my oil burner is right next to my hot water tank since that is what heats our hot water. There is a nice leak goin' on from the hot water tank but no folks, that's not all.............there is water dripping from the hoo-dicky which apparently controls the whatchamacallit. I didn't ask the man who just left to repeat the terms since the only thing they mean to me is approx $250 in parts and who the heck knows how much in labor.

I will call the plumbing company that installed the water heater tomorrow since it's late right now. That thingamajigger is under a warranty still so hopefully that cost will be $0, but truthfully how fun would THAT be? No............the way my luck has been that past few months it will ring a tune of approx $1,000 'cause someone will find some freakin' loophole somewhere.

I'm just hoping the thing doesn't burst before tomorrow. The last time I had a hot water tank burst I was in a different house and it leaked all over the rug in the place it was sitting. It took a good three days to burst. I have no clue what day this is as far as when it started.

sara, do you ever get afraid that the kitty's will scratch the baby? I remember back when i was pregnant there was something being said about keeping cats away from babies but I don't remember why.

yeah I do think about it and I keep her away when they are on their playful rounds (the Kitty 500) but for the most part they are pretty careful of her.

there are a lot of old wives tales about cats and babies, most notably that cats will 'steal the baby's breath'. Not sure what that means but the pediatrician said not to worry about it and just use common sense, like watch for the scratching and when she gets more mobile keep her away from the litter box.

I think the 'breathe' thing was from the cat licking the milk from the babies mouth.

I think it was the litter box that was the worry but they sure seem to love her so much it's so cute to see them snuggle up to her.
