Any idea how long it will take to add the same? what are the documents required??

Yes you can add spouses name in the passport. Its better if you do so. You can go to the following link and see which form to fill and the fees. Suppose your passport is issued from Mumbai or thane you have to fill form 2 with the required documents such has marriage certificate, your husbands passport copy residential proof , ration card etc
