Hi everyone,
I have just developed a big big problem. I am staying in the u.s. My husband just got NOA 2 for both the I-130 and I-129 petition. My package 3 is supposed to go to my sister's address and she was going to let me know when it gets there. She is not talking to me. I have emailed her and she won't respond to me. What should I do now? Any suggestions. Should I just get my husband to send in the I-864 and get the I-130 going through (this may give me more time to change my address with uscis) or should I try to changed my address with ??????? who???? uscis or us embassy in Montreal or NVC???? Does anyone forsee any delays because of my predicament? I'm so confused? Thanks for any help.

Uhm...maybe call your mum and have her yell at her?? smile.gif

Seriously though, hopefully she wouldn't throw out your mail. Package 3 is sent regular mail so not as if she needs to sign for it.

PS.....fill out your timeline too!

CANT YOU CALL TO THE EMBASSSY TO CHANGE THE ADDRESS??? OR TRY TO TALK TO YOUR MOM... HOPE THAT HELPS!

thanks guys. Well, my mom passed away afew years ago and if she were still here I sure wouldn't have this problem with my sister. I guess I will have to call uscis. She will do it out of spite. I feel sick just thinking about it. Thanks again for your help

Oh, about filing in my timelines. I thought I did. I'm not good with computers so I really don't know what I am doing. Can you advice me where to go to do it. I did fill out something on this site with my info.

Best of luck to you!

Just thought I would mention, I was reading a thread yesterday about people changing their address and it never gets updated. The people in question did it online and sent in the 'official' change of address form.

It was recommended that a person make an infopass appointment and meet with someone face to face to ensure the change of address actually gets done.

Don't know how mistrusting you are of these processes but thought I would mention it, good luck!

Ditto - updating your address DOES NOT GUARANTEE that those darn bureaucrats will actually get it. Infopass sounds like a great idea.

The forwarding would occur on the Canadian side, so the USPS wouldn't have a say.

I was kind of confused, too. I definitely had to think about it.
