J. Morones signed for my express mail package as well.
I wonder if this person just works for the post office or if he is with uscis and designated to sign for mail as it comes. Hmmmmm....lol
If so, that's ALOT of signing to do.

Still no NOA1.
Hmmm...
I called to check on the money order I sent in and it's still un-cashed.
Wonder if our files are sitting around in the mail room collecting dust.

December 12, 2007 - packet sent from Oklahoma City. I was hoping to send it out on Monday, but due to the winter storm I couldn't do anything until today. Go VSC GO VSC, process process.
Your item was delivered at 12:18 PM on December 13, 2007 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05479 to INS . The item was signed for by P NOVAK.
What is my next step in waiting?
What should I start preparing for? or should I wait until after I send in my tax for 2007?... Let's go DECEMBER FILER!!!~~~

I sent mine on Dec 10. According to USPS tracking, it arrived on Dec 12.
I'm very fearful that the process will be long and cumbersome as there are a lot of people without their NOA-1.
The waiting process is annoying!

We sent it straight to Vermont. My sweetie lives in New Jersey. I'm filing for a K1.

I read through some of the postings that we can send I-129F without NOA1 from the I-130. The waiting game is too crazy. Does anyone know what service center to send to if one lives in Texas (CSC or VSC)?

JUST an FYi - No process at all on I-130's from August on, no checks cashed, NO NOA1's nada nothing. So hopefully next year early is a good sign for all.
The I-129f is a different story, they are being processed.
Yes you can send other the I-129F without ur receipt number, alot of us sent both together as its acceptable now. Good Luck and I believe it would go to California, but double check on other threads.

Thanks for the reply. I called USCIS today (as a side comment, I don't think the people who works there cares...one apparently has to have no heart to work there) and asked about the NOA1 process and basically said they are about caught up and expect 30-90 days for the notification! What a bunch of crock! How hard is it to open the envelope and send a notification?!! I also asked if I can send the I-129F without the NOA1 and the lady responded with a strong "NO!". She tells me that one must have the NOA1 before submitting the I-129F. I'm so confused with the system with conflicting information. It is so irritating that one has to wait so long to get your spouse here.
Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday.... I know for all of us, it would have been better to spend with our family. :-(
Take care!

This is very confusing - so we cannot send the I-129A and the I-130 together, but need to wait for the NOA1 for the I-130 before sending the I-129A? I know this is how it used to be but I thought after July 30 that it changed???? Other people have filed both together with no problem as I have read here, maybe(hopefully) this particular person didn't have her facts straight.
And what is this about sending 'standalone' I-130s to the Chicago lockbox? If we have to wait for the NOA1 to send in the I-129a wouldn't they be all standalone until the I-129A is received??? How will USCIS know that the I-130 will be on its way? I am hoping to file around New Year's and thought I had everything understood at this point but Noooo...

Do I send it to Vermont or the Chicago lockbox? Together or separately?

Hi,
I filed I-130 for my spouse on Dec-16th and was received on Dec-18th at the INS office in Chicago (J Morones). I am not sure if I need to wait to file I-129F for my spouse till I get the NOA1 for I-130 application or if I can send the copy of I-130 that I sent and USPS receipt that they received it.
Any ideas??

Did anyone file a 130 AND 129F at the same time?? I'm about to file in January and hoping to file both together ... If I do that, I think my application isn't a "Stand Alone" 130 so I probably would send it to the Service Center, not the lockbox (which is the new rule since 12/3)

It appears that no one is checking the boxes and i am wondering if i should recall my money and do a new petition straight to the service center.
Any idea's?

My check hasn't been cashed either. It's been a life of anxiety waiting for someone to cash your check so you can proceede with the next step. I won't advise recalling your checking petition to the service center. I called (the not so nice USCIS workers) and asked about it and supposedly all I-130s are routed to the Chicago Lockbox. They keep on saying wait for a nother 30 days.... it's easy for them to say!!
I also asked if I can submit my I-129F if I provide a photo copy of my I-130 documents (including photo copy of the check) to help expedite the process and the lady (still not so friendly) said that I can try but it will get returned. I have to wait for the NOA1 regardless.
I can't understand why it is so difficult to send a silly receipt notice. Just to indicate that they have it! I understand the volume increase in July but that's 6 months ago!!! They should have expected all of this before hand. The 1500 employee increase should have mitigated the "volume increase" by now. If I run an operation like them, I'd be fired and have no more customers!!!! Government gets away with making people lives misserable!! Sorry for venting... Augh!!!

You are right, chet. If this was an actual company,....we would all be jobless and probably on the 6'oclock news "Enron-Style".
This is personally one reason that I want to be an expat, but I refuse to give up my country just because the government is going (gone already?) to hell in a hand basket.
Just as people say about religion,....it's not the religions that are bad,...it's the PEOPLE that are in it. hahahah.
Anyway, let me shut up before Big Brother comes lurking at my door. lol.
Peace.

I used express with tracking and it was recieved a few days later.

But at least I get to spend two months in Japan with my beautiful wife starting next week.
So that eases the pain a little bit.

Apparently we are not supposed to do this anymore - I was going to send in both together but now we are supposed to only send the I-130 and wait for the NOA1 to send in I-129F - I might try to send it once the check clears and send a copy of the cancelled check and the signature receipt as pushbrk suggested but there is still no guarantee that it will go through.

I do hope since I have heard this new system is supposely quicker filing the I-130 s to ChicagoLockbox but I suppose all we got to do is sit tight and see --and be patient which never come s naturally DOES IT !!!!
We married here on 23rd of November and I belive her petition on behalf of me was received the day before Christmas .anyway I look forward to hearing from you all no doubt their will be highs and lows but no doubt we will end on the highest of highs in the arms of our loved ones!!!

Hello December filers! Long time lurker here! My check for our I-130 has cleared yesterday, 2/1/08. I'm still waiting for the check image to show online though but at least were past the first hurdle! I did the same thing but I think it's logical for them to send back the 129F - not really logical to send back the 130 ... they should/could easily enter that at least in their system.
My stuff was received 1/17 and I just recently got the green return receipt with the USCIS Chicago Lockbox stamped "signature" (I knew it was received on the 17th itself from online tracking)

I am still waiting on the NOA1. Called USCIS and it wasn't in the system yet. They told me that since the Chicago Lockbox enters the info and cash's the checks, they zip the packages on to the correct service center.
I'll be checking my mailbox and will let you all know what I get.

So excited!!

I just got my receipt notice for my I-130 today. Sent Dec. 10 and nearly 2 months later, finally got the receipt notice. The only problem is that the numbers on the receipt notice and the one on the back of the cashed checks are different by two digits. Think someone there must have made a mistake somewhere. Nonetheless, I will presume that number from the mail today take p residence over the number on the back of the cashed check.
Now the next journey begins...
