I called today to the Vermont service center and inquired about my case.
I also asked them to update my husbands address.
I got a touch. I'm VERY sure that it was from just updating his address.
Anyway, the lady told me that if I wasn't approved soon to call back in 30 days. WHAT?!
Here are my emotions as they come...
Now I'm wondering if I get mad will Karma come bite me in the butt....
WHO CARES!

Well, December folks.. seems like another week of no activity... I'm annoyed with how slow things are!! I had the urge to call USCIS today to check up on progress and had one of the rudest girl I've ever talked to. Her name was Cathy or Christie (sp??). She had this attitude of annoyance from the get-go as to why I bothered calling and was of no help. Won't answer any question and was simply rude. Had the audacity to refer me to their useless website. I told her kindly, "ma'am I did look at the USCIS websit but unfortunately there are insufficient information to satisfy my inquiry. This is why I call seeking your help." She made some sort of noise as if she was annoyed and told me to call back next month!! She said that I'm within the processing time. Of course I'm with in the processing time if they keep moving the time backwards and never make progress forward!! If they remain July 30 for the I-130 for the rest of the year, everyone that file after July 30 will always be within their "processing time".
At a minimum, these people should show some empathy. They don't realize how emotionally painful and draining it is that we go through... waiting!!

Just got my NOA2!!!
It was really eerie but good......so last night I am sitting on my computer checking my case status on USCIS.gov as usual, moping around, feeling blue, cursing my luck, and then at 10:30pm I suddenly get an e-mail from USCIS saying my I-130 is approved! I look at my case status and it shows approval notice sent out. So I'm sitting there stunned

and then "blink" I get another e-mail saying my I-129F also just got approved! I go back to my case status and there it is....just updated and showing as approved ...at 10:45pm at night!!! Respect.
Anyway, I called my wife and we did a little dance - her out there and me out here

So, can anyone tell me (and I know there has been a lot of debate about this but little clarity) which process is going to happen next at NVC? Is it the K3 or the I-130? Do I get to pick? Which one is faster (Mumbai consulate)? I read the forum for about 4 hours last night trying to figue this out but couldn't. I have a lawyer so they will give me some input too but not before next week.
Hang in there folks....your approval is just around the corner.....

!!! See my timelline below.

guys, i am a bit worried. i was reviewing the timelines of folks in here and it appears that several of you have received touches. i have yet to receive a single touch. i signed up for e-mail alerts (on the USCIS website) to track my case status and there is not a damn thing other than my NOA1 entry.
should I be worried? my I-130 was received by the VSC in december '07 and my 1-129f was received by them in feb '08. just getting a bit anxious, so thought i would check to see if i should be concerned at this point.
thanks!

We filed at CSC in November and finally received an NOA 1 in the mail Feb 8th. It's a lottery. My kid's application is as simple and bullet-proof as they get. There are a lot of K-3s who started the process in the fall still pending at CSC.

I-130 APPROVED on 5/1/08!!! Haven't gotten a letter yet, but it's supposedly in the mail ... No approval on the I-129F yet, though ... I'm wondering how long I should wait on that before deciding that I'm going with the I-130 alone ...
The way I see it, the goal of permanent residence is now well on its way - but I can still save some time in terms of getting my wife HERE if I go with the K3 because the processing time at the NVC is significantly shorter ... anyone know what the time difference is at the NVC between an I-130 alone vs the K3 "combo"???

Hey guys, I'm a December filer pretty new to this site. I'm really excited that people are getting approved for their NOA2s! I'm so heartsick my husband isn't in the states yet. I miss him terribly and it hurts every time I talk to him. I really want to get this over with... I want to start my new life with him now!
I also have a problem... My I-130 was filed AFTER my I-129 because USCIS returned my I-130 to my lawyer for some reason. Is this going to delay my processing any, does anyone know?
I'm totally regretting hiring a lawyer. If I had found this website before I had done so, I wouldn't have wasted $1500. I was thinking of firing my lawyer because he's been nothing but a hinderance in the process. (Well, my lawyer himself isn't so bad. It's his rude, ignorant secretary who I abhor.)
Anyway, I needed a place to vent. I'm on the verge of tears every time I check the USCIS website and see that my I-129F hasn't been touched since February (the I-130 was touched in March when the received it). Thanks guys.

The inconsistency in USCIS processes is ridiculous. I am extremely frustrated how people can range from 15 days to over 2 years for approvals. If you guys have not posted your comments in the news article on USCIS website, I encourage everyone to post a reply to let the world know how pathetic of an organization it is.
