Greetings!

I've mailed, along with my I-134, all the originals of everything included with my I-129f to my fiancée, including things like boarding passes, cards, letters, my (expired) driver's license, etc....

It's been over two weeks since I mailed it. Usually things only take a week to get there... I'm starting to get slightly nervous that it may have been lost.

Will she actually NEED the originals of what was submitted with the initial petition? Or is that something VJ just recommends to be on the safe side? I figure worst case scenario, I can always fill out another I-134, but the originals in this packet are not replaceable. Trying not to be too paranoid, since I know the mail system can be unpredictable, especially with customs involved, but just want to be prepared (I tend to be unlucky).. Was curious if anyone has had experience with the originals being requested at the interview.

Thanks!

Only the Form I-134 is required to be originals, but if your fiancee has the originals, then she can bring them with her, just in case the CO wants to look at them. They didn't ask about my original documents during my interview, though. And all the documents that you sent when you filed for the petition would be sent to Embassy, once your case is approved. Good luck...

Thank you for the reply, seagull.

I mailed out another I-134, and she should get that on Tuesday. I doubt all the lost documents will be a big deal, but am not sure. Just hoping for the best.

Thanks again!

I think that the original NOA2 letter is needed for AOS, but not for the K1 interview. If the package doesn't turn up, you will have to request another one be issued.

Good Luck with the rest of your journey!

Thanks seagull and ktjett for the replies.

I'm going to just hope the originals are never explicitly asked for. I'm worried they might yell "shenanigans" if I don't provide them!!

Even if they do, I'm sure we can explain they were lost in the mail, and try to do the best with what evidence we still have.

Jesse, I sent a complete copy of everything I sent in along the way....all the way to the embassy....for Andre to take to his embassy interview. I have always had the originals here in a box. This was just in case they ever asked for anything. They never even glanced at any of it at the embassy.

Same for AOS. We were approved without an interview.

I'm sure they won't ask for originals at her K-1 interview, either. I'm probably just overly nervous and a bit paranoid. A side effect of months of thinking about my fiancée's visa?

Of course, friends & family ask about the status. "Thanks, I was trying to take my mind off that!! haha"

It's okay. We've all either been there or are there now. We share your pain.

Talking it out with those of us who understand really does help you keep your sanity.

Keep the faith. As they say in Jamaica, soon come!!!!
