Prime rib on Xmas Day.
Well Dev, we are in agreement. For Christmas day we will have prime rib also. We have a really good butcher shop here in town and they have the very best prime rib I have ever had.

We eat Pork Pie. The funny thing is that when my son and I were visiting my husband in Nigeria a common food of theirs is meet pie. I have no idea what is in it, but it tasted just like Pork Pie, but a little spicier. We ate those often.

My grandmother just rehashes Thanksgiving for Christmas Day. For Christmas Eve, it is normally deli sandwiches and picnic fare with her. Do not ask me why, I don't know.
Next year, hopefully I will be on my own for Christmas and can finally make a proper dinner.

like I said before normally we do prime rib but this year we're trying something new so grandma doesn't have to cook a big meal (she's cooked enough big meals in her life). we're going to have soup and lots of appetizers.

his family has tamales, which hubby's dad makes.... I am not a big fan of tamales, I tried them one year and I didn't like the corn part but hubby says his dad gets better at it every year and says that this year they were really good but I still haven't tried one this year yet

...
this year I had Chinese food for my Christmas dinner...
usually I will make a salad and some appetizers but this year that didn't work out....

We actually had chicken not-quite-biryani (as we had too little basmati, some jasmine rice was used for the remainder), chicken curry, plain rice and fish curry.
For dessert, I made kheer-kamala (basically, badam-kheer with mandarin orange slices instead of rice, vermicelli or tapioca).

We had both: Turkey and Ham. I am firefighter and to work on Christmas, but we cooked a really big dinner and had a bunch of people come eat with us. It was a good time. Hope to do it again next year, but with my Rose with me.
