Our Story
Was introduced to my hubby by my cousin earlier last year. She kept telling me for a few months now that this guy will be perfect for me.. lol never thought she would be right until I met him. We clicked right away as if he was my soulmate (if you believe in such a thing). We started talking via skype from February 2014. He was working in Kuwait, but is an Indian citizen. Fell in love and with our parents approval set the marriage for late September. (Now no one can say i'm afraid of commitment.. hehe). Was done with my final year of medical school at the end of June. Took some time off to get married and be with my hubby. We got married in India on Sep 27th and stayed in India till October 24th. I then went with him to Kuwait till Nov 5th prior to coming back to the states to apply for the I-130 visa. Went back again to be with him and study for my board exams. Currently I'm back again to take the exam and to look for a research job prior to applying for residency.
Didn't think it would be so hard being apart from him, but it clearly sucks. The process is taking longer than we had anticipated. He quit his job to take a course that will help him get a job here quicker. The sad thing is his visa in kuwait will expire in July and that will cause more issues if this process continues to take longer.
It's not fair that married couples can't be together faster. Praying that it will be approved soon or else i'll be heading over there to be with him. Don't want to be apart from him much longer. :(
