I am 21 years OLDER than my husband. We were introduced via mutual friends February of 2012. We talked via Skype, Viber, What's App, Imo, Facetime, Facebook Messenger (whatever worked at the time), and emailed. We finally met in person in May of 2014 for 2 weeks. I was already in love with him, but I, yes, I didn't propose to him until September of 2014 when I visited Morocco for a month. We were married by proxy in Denver, Colorado on April 8, 2015. One of my friends was my husband's power of attorney and spoke for him on that day (civil ceremony in front of a judge. It is now only legal in the US for military personnel. It also used to be legal for civilians like me). I waited until my husband was almost done with school to begin our visa journey for the USA. I worked 10 minutes from the Mexico border so I decided to become a legal resident of Mexico so that I could unite my family there. After my husband completed his education, I prepared a visa for him for Mexico. It barely took 6 weeks! We spent 5 1/2 months together there before we received the notification from the NVC to prepare for his interview. My husband interviewed on September 26, 2017 and was APPROVED. His IR1 visa was ready to be picked up on Friday of the same week! My husband entered in the US on October 6, 2017 through JFK with no problems. No questions were asked. He flew onward to San Diego later that morning. Not including the time I spent with my husband in Mexico, I visited him in Morocco 10 times over the last 2.5 years since meeting in person. I would like to tell anyone, but especially FEMALES in a relationship with a substantial age difference where the female is OLDER: you MUST spend plenty of TIME with your fiance or spouse. Age will be a red flag. FRONTLOAD your application with evidence when you apply. Good luck everyone!!!
