My wife & children came here last October and we got married 30 days later. This week I filed the 1-485 forms for my wife and children ONLY. Now there is some confusion because she talking to some of her friends. I am telling her that it costs an extra $410 to file the I-765 to get the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and then extra fees for an I-131 Advanced Parole Document.

 

Her friends are telling her that if I would have filed the I-485, I-765, and I-131 at the same time, we would only had to pay $1140.00 plus $85 for biometrics. I say she is wrong. I say the costs are $1140.00 plus $85 for biometrics, plus $410 for EAD, and $575 and for I-131. Who is correct?

Technically you're both wrong, since there is no fee for an I-131 and/or I-765 when filed concurrently with or subsequent to an I-485.

The friend is incorrect in stating that if filed now it will cost a fee, all the op has to do is file the forms with a copy of the noa1 from the 485 and they have the fee waived.

Filing Form I-485 with Forms I-765 and I-131

If you properly file Form I-485 and pay the required fees, you may file Form I-765 and Form I-131 without paying additional fees. You may file these forms together, or if you choose to file Form I-765 or Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid for Form I-485.
