Thanks for making this thread! On Thursday, I called NVC and they said they had received my case, but did not have a number for me yet. I decided to wait until Tuesday night to call them back...hopefully after a long weekend they will feel renewed with energy and get to work on my dang case # :P

Also, I am using this time to gather documents because we, like everyone else, want to get a jump on the embassy process.

So far, we've got:

  • DS-160
  • Police Certificate
  • Beneficiary Birth Certificate
  • I-134 (with supporting document from my bank)
  • Updated letters of intent to marry

We are waiting on:

  • I-134 co-sponsor document & supporting documents
  • Signed lease document (to establish domicile for myself)

...and of course, we can't schedule any medical or interview without that pesky NVC #, so technically that goes in the "waiting on" category as well

I am struggling to think of what to provide to prove ongoing relationship...I mean, we've lived together for two years so our chat logs are like, "Can you buy paper towels?" but maybe I'll pick some of our cuter selfies and print those. I also plan on going to the interview with my fiance.

Hopefully!

I called on Friday and the woman I spoke to was so nice. She told me that I should allow six weeks. I then stuttered and let out a sad sigh and she kind of laughed and said "You are welcome to call every single day."

I SO prefer them over USCIS.

YES! They are super kind. The lady I talked to on Thursday was so kind and enthusiastic for us.

I think the only person I talked to at USCIS was a live customer chat representative and it was like trying to talk to cardboard.

He's almost finished the DS-160. Sigh.

Do I need to give him a signed lease from my apartment complex as proof of domicile?!

Also, stuff like that works. Pictures, family photos. I have no idea.

Are you living overseas with your beneficiary? If not, then I don't think you need to prove domicile. I just know that I will have to prove that my living here in Romania is temporary :/

Hello guys

How are  you  today ?   I am kindly  asking your help  here

My fiance  is a self employed  guy, now he is preparing  the affidavit of support  to send it to me, but we are confused  a little  bit..

1. His tax return documents; does it need  to be a gross or net income of his tax return?

2.does he need to file for schedule  C/form 1040 along  with  tax return  as well ?

We are using  form I-134f for affidavit  of support  instead  of  I-824f, are we on a safe side?

Thanks in advance.

I will miss certain things about living here. The geography is absolutely breathtaking and the villages are like out of a story book...but I won't miss the crushing weight of government corruption or the massive amount of paperwork that is required for everything here. I will really miss all the wonderful people I've met.

My NOA2 is February 3rd. You should fill out the I-134 for this part of the K1 process. I believe that you can use a W2 or the tax returns to prove income. I have no idea what a C/form 1040 is, sorry :(

I am doing my affidavit of support and I am self employed - My lawyer said I mainly have to provide a years worth of bank statements showing deposits - as well as this additional:

SELF-EMPLOYED: if you are self-employed, we need

(a) Copies of your bank statements for the last 12 months, showing deposits;

(b) Copies of the last 3 years’ TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPTS (i.e. please request these from the IRS) for your business;

(c) Copies of your personal TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPTS (i.e. please request these from the IRS);

(d) Proof of assets, if you have them (IRA, 401(k), bank deposits, equity in real estate);

Thank you for making this thread! I had a look at the DS-160 and was kind of intimidated. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My to do list for papers to secure include:

○ Police Clearance

○ fresh copies of birth certificate

○ Certificate of No Marriage

○ Transcript of Records and School Diploma (for future use)

Is an updated letter of intent to marry mandatory?
