K1 Process (Manila, Philippines): This is my understanding, is this correct:

The I-129 sits at USCIS and checking its status shows “My Case was received” at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do

Then after a hundred days or so “My case was received” will change to “Sent to NVC

Is that correct?

Then you go to https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and wait until it says:

“At NVC

Then you wait for “At NVC” to change to “In Transit” and then to… I’m not sure what it says next but it will say something indicating that the file is at Manila and then you can start the next process.

Would someone please clarify if the above is correct or not?

Thank you.

By the way in my timeline is this: "Date Case #, IIN, and BIN assigned : 2018-02-06" What is BIN?

When it is in transit at the NVC you can call them to get your MNL#. Your fiance will get the letter in the USA, YOU will not get it in the Philippines. Once you have your MNL# you can schedule your medical, pay your interview fee and schedule the interview.  If you have any Philippine specific questions you can come over to the Philippines subforum and we will gladly help you out.

Also you can go ahead and do the CFO while waiting for the interview, you will just have to come back later When you have the visa in order to get the stamp.

Not quite...

I-129F to USCIS.  Then wait....probably 180 to 220 days is a good average.  Some less, some more (day 259 for us, Day 274 for Trinab80)

Then NOA2 or RFE... if approval, start calling NVC after about 10 days.  If RFE, answer it ASAP.

After NVC number you can book medical and interview (Philippines only).

You need a CFO sticker so plan a trip there.  Hopefully 10 to 12 months after filing you will have POE.  Some quicker, some slower...

Thank you guys. Very helpful. How long does it take my fiancee who is in Cebu, Philippines to get the letter, and is it necessary? I don't trust RP's mail at all.

Cyberfx you wrote: "When it is in transit at the NVC you can call them to get your MNL#. Your fiance will get the letter in the USA"

It never changed from "At NVC" to "in transit," and I already have my MNL2018.... number. Aargh and I've been waiting....

You wrote: "your fiancee will get the letter in the USA" but my fiancee is not in the USA??

Your fiance will NOT get the letter at all and do not wait around for it. You being the American WILL get the letter but she will not get it. This is a VERY common misconception where the USEM will mail the pinoy the letter when in reality it doesn't happen.

The letter or a copy of it is required for the medical.

You are right not to trust the mail!  The letters go to the petitioner in the states right up to the MNL#.  There technically is no Packet 3 in the Philippines.  Once you get the number you run with it.

Thank you again. So I'm ready to continue booking the interview and (I think....optionally) booking the medical.

Can you refer me to the best "current" link explaining the process from here on?

The problem sometimes is once, very helpful guides change. For instance I remember to "wait till it says: "At VSC" then wait till it turns to "In transit" then wait a bit and call Manila to get case number. Apparently that has changed, much for the better.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking
This is the line that I got from someone here, though it is not a visajourney link:

Perhaps things have changed.

https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home

"Step 3: The Last Steps

Now, you will have one of a few answers to you query. At NVC, In Transit, Arrived, or Ready. "Ready" is the magic word. That means that not only is your case at the Embassy, but it is already entered into the system. After paying your visa fee, you can submit your DS-160 and schedule your interview!!!"

Stop worrying about stuff at the NVC so much. What you need to worry about is when it actually hits the Philippines. I understand you what to know what's going on but you don't need to make mountains out of molehills.

Thank you for the link, that helps. I don't understand your comment: "Medical is not optional!!!"

But, but, my fiancee uses a water dipper assiduously...is that not enough?

hmmmm

Haha...I'm only kidding, of course it's not optional, RP is #9 on the world list of number of people with active and latent TB.

It also has a leprosy problem though they've made great improvements on that lately. See: http://www.wpro.who.int/philippines/areas/communicable_diseases/leprosy/who_leprosy_control_burden_.pdf if you are curious.

Where'd you get the idea that I thought medical was optional?
