Hello VJ,

My wife has received two NVC Welcome Letter.  She's the petitioner for both her mother and father.  We also received two NVC Welcome Letter's for her parents.

In the letter there is six (6) steps to follow:

1.) Choose an Agent  - Should my wife fill out this information for her and her parents?

2.) Pay Fees Online - Self explanatory

3.) Submit Visa application form - Self explanatory

4.) Collection Financial documents - What type of information should we prepare?  Please make a list and explain whether it's necessary.

5.) Collect supporting documents - What type of information should we prepare?

6.) Submit financial and supporting documents in one package to NVC - My wife is petitioning both her mother and father. Will we send two separate packages? or can we send them together?

Thank you in advance!

1. Yes she can

3 and 4. Look at the information on this site....https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc.html

5. separate packages, which means you will need 2 of some documents like marriage certificate, etc Each submission has its own unique cover sheet

Thank you.

After looking through some of documents required.  Currently, we live at home with my parents.  We plan on buying a house really soon.  How do I prove I have a domicile?

Take a look at the electronic filing thingie for China, also .  Shaves wait time after the packet is done at NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

You are living in the US with your wife? You have domicile. It doesn’t mean you have to own a house ... you can live in whatever arrangements work for you!!

Hi Dee elle,

Thank you for your response.  How do I prove I have a domicile?  The house is under my mothers name.  My wife and I have been living in that house for the past 5 years.  I've lived there for 10+ years.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi Darnell,

I'm struggling with Step 1.  Choose an Agent.  Exactly what does this mean?  My wife is petitioning for her mother and father.

1.) Choose an Agent

2.) Pay Fees Online - Self explanatory

3.) Submit Visa application form - Self explanatory

4.) Collection Financial documents - What type of information should we prepare?  Please make a list and explain whether it's necessary.

5.) Collect supporting documents - What type of information should we prepare?

6.) Submit financial and supporting documents in one package to NVC - My wife is petitioning both her mother and father. Will we send two separate packages? or can we send them together?
