Hello group members anyone who knows how long it takes for a USA citizen to petition for father or for my mother who is a greencard holder to petition for my father who is her husband?
Which route is faster greencard holder spouse or USA citizen adult child to petition?

if you file for him, a year like your mom if you filed for your mom

 

if she files for him 2 years. is he your biological father? if so, why didn't you file for them at the same time? this is, if you were the one who filed for your mom

A USC petitioning for a parent is ~12-14 months from filing to interview. The process is fairly simple as you only need to show the biological relationship and some other items that all immigrants need.

An LPR petitioning for a spouse is ~2 years. This requires showing proof of a bona fide marriage in addition to the other items, which can be a hassle.

The only real advantage of the the LPR doing it is if there are minor (under 21, unmarried) children involved who can join on the same petition.

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received
