Hello All,

Just received my I-797C with instructions to create my online account (DONE)  after reviewing the documents etc. (I'm Impressed with how quick the biometrics were set up) I noticed that I also have an "ESTIMATED CASE COMPLETION TIME" mine says "December 18 (13 months)"  all this for a Naturalization process... I'm assuming the timeline is just a safe estimate  based on the cases right now,  and that timeline will update depending upon how quick or slow they advance on previous cases or is it pretty much a set date?

Nevertheless I'm almost there and definitely not rushing this last lap on this lengthy marathon!

good luck to all of you !

great!  i e-filed on 11/16,and it said the estimated case completion time -17 months(4/2019) ...why we are so different ? because of different field office or different home country origin ?

 H1b ---> EB-1A (I-140) ---> I-485 AOS(Green Card) ---> 5 years --->  US Citizenship N400 application

  • Day 011/16/2017, e-filing N400
  • Day 3069/18/2018,  interview day--passed and in line for oath.
  • Day 332: 10/15/2018, Oath Day

I started this immigration for my husband who I meet in 2012 and I have been a longtime user since then!!! Now, he has been here for 3 years and we are doing citizenship. Yesterday, we received NOA 1 as well after filing N400. We created online account and it says 17 month estimate 4/2019 (I am in Orlando - FL and thus that's our field office.") This is like way too long for this. When I became a citizen in 2009 - it took 6 months for the whole thing).

*** Thread is moved from the US Citizenship main forum to the Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

hello everyone,

I have submitted/e-filed on 11/24

Miami Office

the estimated case completion time - 23 months (10/19)...

I am trying to draw a pattern, but I can't come up with better suggestions (country of origin? field office? e-file vs paper version?).... I am lost

I don't know in what part of Miami you live but I really hope your closest office is Hialeah. I'm also Venezuelan and I filed for my citizenship last year on February and it was super quick. I applied on February 27th and in may 27th I was attending my oath ceremony. It was 3 months sharp the entire process. I was in a rush because my Venezuelan passport expired 3 months prior and you already know is nearly impossible to get one now days....having my family in Europe I didn't want to be without a passport especially in case of an emergency. So it was easier and wayyyy cheaper to get my citizenship and passport than trying to renew my venezuelan passport.

I read that citizenship applications spiked this year after Trump's election and that is taking way longer but if your local office is Hialeah maybe your waiting period is going to be less than that. Either way good luck! if you have questions about the process in this particular office let me know paisano!!
