Hi guys,

We sent out ROC package on 10/05 and it was received 10/07.
The check was cashed 10/12 and we still have not received the NOA that follows which extends the green card.

Is this typical? Should we wait longer or contact USCIS?

Thank You!

It can take a couple of weeks sometimes. I think I would start worrying a couple weeks AFTER the check is cashed. It sounds like the service centers are backlogged again, so if I were you I would maybe contact them if you don't receive anything by the end of next week. Good luck! :)

I would book an infopass and see if you can get a stamp due to no NOA letter.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Alright so I got off the phone with Tier II - Apparently it was mailed out 10/11 …

Anyways ... I now have 2 questions:

1) Online case status says "We received your Form CR-89" - Isn't it I-751? Or is this just USCIS coding?
2) Tier II Officer gave me 2 case numbers and I asked why; he said one if for biometrics and the other is your actual case number you can track. Any thoughts?

He also mentioned that the biometrics appointment hasn't been set up yet …

I wouldn't worry too much over the online status. That system is very glitchy. Mine first stated that they received my Form...blah blah. and we have waived your fees. Lol, they did no such thing...they cashed the check! Then it switched to what you stated above, they received my CR-89 blah blah...  Then it switched back to the fees waived thing. Most of the time people don't get updates at all. Some of the people who filed a year or so ago are getting updates, but those of us who have files within the last 6 to 8 months...and you recent filers, are all getting the glitchy responses. I don't even check it any more. I figure if they want something, they will send an RFE. If they schedule an interview, they will send me a letter. I got my I-551 stamp so I am good for a while. Just done with this already!

I don't know about a case number. The only thing they were interested at the FO where I got my stamp was my A #. On the letter they send as an extension there is a number that staers with WAC. That may be what the Tier II was referring to.

You should get a letter in the mail regarding your biometrics.  From the sounds of things, you may have to nag them... Once you have that done, the wait is long. Good luck!

It seems like it is basically USCIS coding. (Maybe that's the old name for the form or something, before they made everything into either K-___, I-___, N-___ etc) Once you've gotten your NOA (which creates the first (non-trackable) case number) The second number (the one that can be tracked) would have been printed alongside the first number on your biometrics letter. Maybe the first number just sends the internal message that you need to have a biometrics appointment, and then the second number becomes active when your "Removal Of Conditions petition is complete" (which is to say - you sent in the form + your evidence + had your biometrics appointment) and that's the file they will eventually approve.

Is your timeline updated?
