very expensive idea

not only is there the birth but also the post natal care of the infant

and where would she stay?

no state and no hospital in the US is cheap

and many airlines don't allow a pregnant woman to fly

why birth in the US?

does not mean the baby can get the parents here fast

o petition for your parents (mother or father) to live in the United States as green card holders, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old. Green card holders (permanent residents) may not petition to bring parents to live permanently in the United States.Apr 4, 2011

Give a birth in the country where you live unless you have at least 25-30 thousand dollars to pay for your expenses. What's the point of giving it in the US?

How far along is she?  CBP may not like the idea of her birthing in the US and will deny her entry.  Or if she is too far along the airline won't let her fly.

I was in secondly once and saw a pregnant lady denied entry because the CBP said she had immigrant intent

Good luck

Of all these replies, none has answered his questions or requests. The wife has a Tourist visa and they have intended her visiting to give birth in US. He didn't complain of not having the money to foot the bills or intend seeking for Green Card through their child (unborn) immediately. It should be better to give an answer to his question or request, or we pass by.

Thank you.

oh.  us okay with this idea.  foreginger comes to us for visit visitor visa not to visit but to make child us citizen.  us government okay with this cuz CBP so stupid.  sometime people think immigration to us easy.  VJ point out what they do not think about.  VJ show them why idea is bad.

What do u think CBP say when she show up pregnant and ready to give birth in US with visitor visa?

As long as you have whoooooole bunch of money you can do whatever you want. Just hope there won't be any complications or price will jump few thousands dollars. The officer on the border might even ask for financial proof that you can cover the birth.

For an uncomplicated birth be prepared to pay at least $20,000. I assume you will shop around and make arrangements prior to her coming as it is not good for her or the baby to just show up at a hospital when she is in labor.

As to how you will work the logistics of leaving the US in time I don't know but it is something you need to think about. She will have to obtain the baby's birth certificate and passport before the baby can leave the US. That takes time, sometimes months.

The US systems assumes that a faceless insurance company is picking up the bill for a child being born, hence the bill is higher than a single couple would ever want to face.   The way the bill breaks down there are many things you pay for.  The doctor is a separate contract.  Then the hospital will hit you with a fee for the room , the nurses, the use of a different delivery room if you use one , even the pain pills ( by the pill )  so no one can give you an exact number.  Having a child here will not give the parents any right to stay , and before the child is old enough to petition parents you can be assured that class of visa will be as dead as the DV lottery is for Nigeria.  There is also a high chance that the mother will be turned away.   per a recent parenting mag the cost of a perfect birth is $8802.  But few births in the US are perfect.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
