Hi Everybody My friend when to her interview at the U.S Embassy in caracas,Venezuela for her fiance visa, everything went great there, and they approved her visa, a week later she got the notification that she could go to pick her passport up  at zoom office in her state, but by surprise her visa was not in her passport, instead of it was a note saying that her visa was denied but says that she didnt have properties in venezuela to ensure that she would come back so they made a mistake because it looks like she applied for a tourist visa. She sent a message to the embassy and they said that yes they approved her visa that they are going to chek it but the process could take 60 days. So please type your opinio of it if you know something.

Did she apply for a tourist visa at some point during or prior to the fiance visa? I'm a bit confused.

If it was a mistake on the embassy's part, there very well could be a 2 month wait. Did they tell her to return the passport to them so they could correct the visa?

she didnt apply for a tourist visa during the K1 visa process, they told her that they are working in that mistake because it was a fiance visa instead of a tourist visa so they told her to wait till they recheck that and it could take 2 months, the thing is that they didnt ask her for the passport so how they are going to give her the visa when they dont have the passport in their hands.

Thats horrible. Im so sorry she is going through this.

But mistakes happen. The people at the Embassy are human so sometimes they make mistakes. The best thing she can do now is stay on top of the situation. I understand they said to 'give them time'- 60 days actually to fix it but she needs to stay on top of it. Im sure when they investigate and confirm the error they will ask her for the passport back. Who knows if it will take a week or so for this to happen or the full 60 days. But she doesnt want her file to slip through the cracks so she should maintain contact with them through email.

The USC can also contact their congressperson and ask for assistance.

yes I know sometimes they give you an estimate but usually take less than that I know because I applied for a fiance visa and always was like that. Thanks God I didnt have that issue.

the worst thing is that she bought the tickets already so she has to move dates now.
