hi guys, anybody out there with experience using Abu Dhabi as their POE?

I am going to be using Abu Dhabi airport soon as my POE and I am entering on a K1 visa. I am just wondering how long does the CBP take to "process" k1 entrants there? how early should i plan to arrive at the airport?

any advise would be appreciated. thanks!

It is a POE. Abu Dhabi is a preclearance location. OP will go through customs and immigration before boarding the flight to the US.

If let say, I'm travelling from Malaysia to London and London to Charlotte, is that mean London will be my POE?

No. There are no preclearance facilities in London - your POE would still be Charlotte. But if you flew through Ireland, you could clear immigration in Dublin or Shannon - they do have preclearance.

Thank you super duper much! 😃 Feel so relieved that my POE will still be at Charlotte! Choose that route because I want Charlotte to be my POE. A bit scared to be somewhere that I don't have someone that I know!😂😂😂😂😂😂

That's correct. Once precleared, you'll arrive in the US at a domestic gate and face no further immigration/customs checks - just transfer directly to a connecting flight, or pick up your bags and go.

Dubai doesn't have pre-clearance, just Abu Dhabi (in the UAE).

All POE procedures are done before you can meet up with anyone you know (or in the case of pre-clearance, after you say goodbye to anyone you know).

Thank you for the info 😊 Yes, I know that. But, I feel more comfortable that way. I feel more comfortable knowing that he will be waiting for me outside there. I read few member experience where they got denied on POE because of the officer said that it is already expired (because they count it 6 months from the petition date not the K-1 visa issuance date). Since my fiance is at Charlotte, I might able to call him and telling him that. He might able to arrange something for that. That is why I prefer to choose POE at Charlotte.

Checked the flight detail of my above post.. is Dubai, the same as Abu Dhabi? Ive read that they are separate cities.. and hopefully not our POE.
