Be very careful unless you have known her for awhile most the time they start asking for money and for you to start paying for things usually means a red flag.

I thought that too as soon as he said "she wants me to pay"...but didn't want to assume anything/offend him in any way.

There is something off about your post..first, an Australian that can't spell and the way you phrased your question is off to me. You made it seem like some random girl asking you to pay for something.

Could be mistakes from typing quickly since the correct letters are close to the incorrect ones on the keyboard.

On an aside, I don't think country of origin is always a factor in how well someone spells or their grammar...heck, I've met countless ESL foreigners that spell and speak better English than some born-Americans...

How is that over the top? That's just about US $300 total.

From my knowledge of the Ghanaian currency, I say that's pretty normal.

Your math is way off. It's about a 4-1 exchange rate for US dollars to cedis. So 6460 cedis is almost $1,500. That is way too much for the medical and police report.

@Anthonydaw, be careful if she is asking for that much money. My husband got his medical for about 1700 cedis in January. The police report was I believe only 100 cedis.

Read the posters first post.

he says the lady is asking him to send her AUS $190 and AUS $180 for the medical and police clearance respectively. If you convert that to US$, it's about $300.

He didn't say where he got the 6460 cedis from (might be from his own attempt to convert to cedis) but according to his post, the lady is asking her for a total of AUS $370

I read the first post. But notice which post you quoted...the 6460 cedis and then stated it was $300. You can see where the confusion would be. I wanted to ensure others who read this later don't misinterpret the post.

she would need about $500 for medicals and about $25 for police clearance, going the normal way if you know what I mean....i just did mine a week ago and it cost just 120.00 cedis
