What can I do when I have a lack of evidence for I-751?

We never had a joint bank account or filed a tax return. We don't have any kids. We always lived with his family so we never really had a lease agreement. The only thing I have is a lease agreement his family wrote up when I needed it to get some kind of document. (I can't even remember what that was now) so I'm scared they're going to just decline my application to remove conditions. What can I do in this kind of situation?

I don't file until next year but I'm worrying about it now, I'd like to get myself as prepared as possible.

I would start filing taxes do you have a job? And if so how long? It you have a bank account I would make it joint pronto.

Some simple suggestions:

  • Taxes if filed together
  • Each other's beneficiary for insurance or 401k and such
  • Membership like Costco where he's the primary member and you get listed as a household member/card or the other way around
  • Mobile phone bills if your phone numbers are billed as one
  • Authorized user on one or the other person's credit card
  • A copy of each person's driver's license showing the same address
  • A few mails sent to either of you to the same address

I only started working in June so I didn't file this year and we don't have a bank account, I get paid from my job directly onto a card and didn't see any reason to create a bank account at this time.

I agree, it's great evidence. My husband and I have MPOAs. There are many low cost or even free forms out there.

You have a reason now..for I751. Some of these things they ask for are not necessary for your personal life, but they are key to removing your conditions. We didn't want a joint account either since everything already worked, but for this we had to open one and use it to make sure we had lots of transactions. All my married friends who are born citizens don't have one..it's annoying, but you will need it. I'd suggest opening one ASAP so you will have at least a year of history when you file next year.

And your spouse had no income as well? Or was it filing as single? if it was filed as single then amend it to include you.

Health insurance, 401k beneficiary, phone bills, travel itineraries. you mentioned that you have a lease agreement, try to make it show that you lived there from when you got married to the most recent and have it notarized.
