There is no specific time frame; it could be a week, it could be a couple of months, or longer.  What documents did they ask for, and when did you send them?

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

My sister, her spouse along with 2 sons had immigrant visa interview on April 10th 2017. Their passports were kept by US Embassy in Pakistan and they were told that their case is being forwarded for administrative review. They were given 221g with explanation of administrative review. The thing is they do not have a set time frame for these review. All it says is that it could take several weeks which could mean infinite period. Is it true that when a case is put in administrative review it gets thrown behind other cases that get priority over cases that has to go thru administrative review? If that is the case then, its totally unfair. These people already waited for over 13 years to get their cases approved, with all the required documents submitted, where all the docs. were supposedly cross checked for authenticity by relevant departments, only to find out at the final moment that their case needs further administrative review. They need to fix this process and make it more efficient. I think this is nothing but absolutely BS. Pardon my French.

Hi its me Tajdar Alam from Pakistan. I have been selected for a fellowship of Oklahoma university but from 25 May my visa is on Administrative Process but still no sign of any response from consular or Islamabad embassy side and its 2 days are left in fellowship deadline. I need special effort from embassy and consular side to approve or disapprove. such silence is very much disappointed and painful. It is strange not taking any discussion in 50 days.
