The G325A form is no longer required with the latest I129F form.  Go to the USCIS site to download the latest form.

For the K1, you just need to include the I129F form.  Here is the guide, but it is not updated yet for the new 129 form.  Eventually you will also need to the I134 form at the consulate stage.

The lawyer question has been asked many times, and it is really a personal decision.  Some people feel there is peace of mind with a lawyer.  Simple relationships (no legal troubles, or other red flags) generally do not require a lawyer.  Just remember, even with a lawyer, the couple will still be doing most of the work gathering all the information the lawyer needs.

As to the rest of your questions, I would read the guides and tips here as well as the instructions for the I129F thoroughly, and look at the pinned threads in the K1 forum.  It is a fairly simple process for the most part.

Good Luck!

I am assuming your fiancé is the US citizen or resident, if that is correct, the I129F is his application for you.  The K1 visa is essentially a two part process, the USC or LPR files the I129F to USCIS for a foreign fiancé with the I129F.  As long as there are no big red flags like criminal activity, or immigration overstays and you meet the basic requirement of meeting in person at least once in the past two years, all the necessary supporting evidence is included (passport photos, letters of intent, etc.) this application has a high approval rate.  Then the process moves to the consulate stage, and becomes more about the foreign fiancé.  They need to fill out the DS160 form (the USC or LPR has to provide the I134 affidavit of support), conduct a medical examination, and go to the consulate for an interview.  In that side of the process, they are looking for people trying to use the K1 just to gain a GC, so they may focus a little more on the relationship and honesty.

it is an advantage that you will be able to work on the form together in person prior to filing, but to prepare for that time you can prepare a little bit by getting a copy of your birth certificate, if previously married, proof that those marriages have ended legally, any birth certificates of your children.  I would draft out your own letter of intent which is essentially of a story of your relationship from your point of view and your desire to get married to your future spouse.

As I said in my earlier reply, using a lawyer or not is a personal decision.  There are a lot of resources for those that do it themselves and you have found one of the best sites in Visa Journey.  There are many members here willing to give you help and provide advice as you progress through the immigration process.

Good Luck!
