Hi fellow VJ members need your help in particular situation. I had my interview on March 27th, 2017 and after a good interview the CO gave me 221(g) saying case need further processing. After 2 weeks Its case updated in April but was still showing "Ready". It updated couple of times during April, May and in June, few time itself and few time because of inquiry. On June 12th, It went to "Refuse" on CEAC website without ever going to "Administrative Processing". So we were shocked to see that but we never received any notification or anything from embassy or anyone. So we did the inquiry via call and email to which the replied us back which is:

Thank you for writing to our office. Your immigrant visa case has been refused under INA Section 221(g) for administrative processing, an integral part of the visa adjudication and issuance process that can neither be expedited nor waived. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict the amount of time the processing will take and timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case. The visa application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete.

Please be assured that we are aware of your concerns and will process the application to completion as quickly as possible, in accordance with U.S. laws. We recognize that this process can be frustrating for applicants and regret any inconvenience.

After getting this we called again to embassy and lady told us that its not the hard refusal but just 221g refusal for AP and nothing to worry about. I am still not sure whats going on. We haven't got any notification of case refusal or petition sent back to NVC. Also they still have my passport.

Anyone who know any such situation please comment. Need your help.

Did the CO give you a form after your interview?

Have you submitted everything that the embassy required of you?

Additionally, what is the profession of beneficiary?

AP is three pronged depending upon a given case. Normally, an AP will last somewhere from few days to three years because AP has no time limitations mandated by the congress.

In your case, it may not be necessarily an extended delay, however, you should still project at least 45 days, the most.

Hello... my interview was conducted on 24th of may and the case is under AP.. last my case was updated on 8th of June 2017.. it's very frustrating 😒

When you case is under AP. There is nothing you can but to wait. It can take few days, weeks, months or years. There is no way to tell how long it will take.

Can you tell some details about you visa. Which category it was and when you attended the interview, what happen or question CO asked. It will help us to find out why you were in AP or what went wrong.
