how soon after you remove conditions on your 2 year green card can you apply for citizenship? The marriage is going on 4years. It was 3 years when filing removal application.

Assuming you stay married to and living with your U.S. citizen spouse the whole time, you can apply for citizenship three years after obtaining a green card. Being that it will take maybe a year to get your next green card approved, I'd say you could apply right after you get it in the mail.

Oh I know that you can after 3years but I got my conditonal on our second anniversary (I filed late) but I still have to remove conditions first which am doing at my almost 4th anniversary . Ny question was after I remove conditions and get the 10year GC, can I turn around and file citizenship right away or is there an amount of time I need to wait.  We are going to be happily married for 4 years when I remove conditions.

If you still married to the same USC for at least 3 years after obtaining the green card (see the "resident since" date), then you can file at the 3 year anniversary - 90 days...assuming you meet the other requirements. ROC does not have to be completed yet to apply, but ROC must be approved before naturalization will be approved.

You can apply for citizenship 90 days before the 3 year anniversary of being an LPR and married to the spouse who sponsored you.  You need to be an lpr for 3 years, not just married for 3 years.

You can file for citizenship 3 years (minus 90 days) from the "resident since" date on your first greencard.

provided you are still married to the original person or have AOS'd with VAWA.  Otherwise it's 5 years.

She already said they're still happily married so I had to go by the info she provided.

I'm just saying you have to qualify that statement.  Someone reading this thread, could misunderstand what you're saying, even though it's perfectly logical and applies specifically to the OP.  Just an FYI cover your butt when giving information and advice from someone who's been here a bit.

Alright thank you all, I got the answer I was looking for. I can apply after 3 years of being a legal resident or 90 day before the anniversary I became a resident (whatever the case maybe ) and not by the marriage anniversary. That's the only area that was a little grey to me. (which anniversary to go with)but now it's clear,  I appreciate you all and thankyou.
