I had the interview, passed my English and us history questions. However a decision could not be made on my case, the officer told me leave me your passport copies and will let you know by mail. It's now 3 weeks no updates on my status nor any news heard .

Lady officer just said you will hear from us thro mail .. I do understand it can take 3 months max as I have the right to appeal but processing time is usually upto 3 weeks not more .. FBI check is usually done before they set an interview appointment or finger print !! Isn't it ?

This is a very similar situation as reported by dozens of other Visajourney users, I would just relax for now and not worry until you get a decision from them, if you were truthful in all your applications/questions and have not violated the law you will have a very high chance of getting approved in weeks, or perhaps many months, being from Iran probably won't help to expedite your situation in today's political climate so just wait until you hear from them, but until then don't worry, you WILL hear from them eventually... as you know you have the right to sue the federal government to get an answer, which you can do after a specific amount of time.

Sorry to hear that, was there some indication as to the cause based on your interview?

My initial thought for administrative processing delays is the fact you are from Iran.  But since you have been denied, there may be more.  At least you'll know in a few days.

Denial letters state the basis for rejection. That don't usually deny this quickly unless there was an ineligibility issue. Nevertheless, wait for the letter before further speculating on the reason.

Case has already been denied ! The reason it's taking so long to come thro via mail .. I personally think since my lawyer was present at the interview there may be some silly excuse of denial reason so I appeal against their decision and so my lawyer can milk some more $
