Going on 11 months wait time for AOS..

Case status still reads: On July 13, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number ---------------. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

We received a letter in April saying they needed more info (his birth certificate specifcally) to make a decision, and this was to be mailed to somewhere in North Carolina (can't remeber the city right now). Per tracking, the package was received. Is there anything I can do but wait? And shouldn't I have received something about an interview/interview waiver by now? I wasn't worrying about it, but realized today how long it's been since we filed..

You can always call to inquire, but sometimes people wait years for AOS. In the mean time, you can renew your EAD/AP indefinitely for free while it currently processes. If you haven't received a GC by July 2nd, 2018 (two years after your marriage), your AOS would turn into a 10-year green card when approved, meaning you'd have no need to ROC anymore.

Next month it will be 3 years we filed, and we just had our interview last week. And no decision was made, so here we are waiting again.

Likely this is due to stateside Administrative Processing chiefly due to the beneficiary being a Pakistani male. But you probably already knew that.

Yes, but the awkwardness of our interview is that the IO only asked if we had joint bank accounts,  the rest of the interview was him wanting to know of my trips to Pakistan. He didn't ask anything else about our marriage.

Waiting over 2 years since filing, interview was 9 months ago.
Waiting for the now 10 year GC and looking forward to no longer having to do ROC.

Wow 9 months after your interview! How did your interview go? The IO told the lawyer he will make a decision my mid June, let's see.

We have been waiting over a year and still no interview.  We have sent in two inquiry requests.  The first no response, the second we got a letter saying its just taking longer than expected. Frustrated to say the least.

Stokes interview, one hour each. IO seemed nice and told us we would have an answer 2-4 weeks which turned into 9 months.
Service requests said we are in background checks and since you are from Paki you are likely in security/background checks too.

Thanks for the insight, everyone! There's really no huge rush for the GC since we have the EAD and AP, but knowing our AOS is just floating (or sitting on a desk) out there is definitely frustrating. Would love some closure on this.

 

Speaking of AP... has anyone traveled with this before receiving GC? We're trying to plan a trip to Sweden in August and I was really hoping the GC would be here by then. I rememeber when applying for AP it specifically asked if we had any trips planned and what they were so I don't know if it's more risky to use AP than GC to re-enter the US. Obviously we would bring along with us all of our info if he was ever stopped at customs, but I hate the idea that we'd be risking all of this for a week abroad.
