Filing an I-90 will be a waste of money since green card will expire in about 3 months and you have to remove conditions. New green cards take more than 6 months to be issued and they can't issue you an expired one. Your best course of action will be to schedule an info pass appointment to request an I-551 stamp on your passport. You'll need this stamp when you also file I-751 as your extension letter will not be sufficient alone without the actual physical expired green card. The I-751 application process also require you to submit both front and back copies of green card, since you have only the front copy I wonder if that'll be a problem.

Hi, I think you can wait until June to file i751. You will need copies  of your card.Did you use a lawyer when you file the first time ? If you did he might have copies .

I know that it seems like a ridiculous waste of money, but I know they will send an RFE if you don't send copies of both sides of your green card. You may have to apply for a replacement. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

I agree with you here. You cannot renew a conditional green-card, knowing that.. the only way to semi-solve this situation is by scheduling an info-pass appointment. Since, he does need front and back copies, he perhaps would have to explain the situation on a separate page.

you need to apply for a replacement of the GC ..you can use the receipt during the ROC.

it may seem like a waste of money but USCIS doesn't care about the money you waste. ask those who file for citizenship while ROC process is pending.

i was trying to fill out the form for my lost green card which expires in August but i saw this message "This application is used by lawful permanent residents and permanent residents in commuter status to apply for
replacement or renewal of existing Permanent Resident Cards. Conditional permanent residents may also use this
application to apply for replacement of an existing Permanent Resident Card. Conditional permanent residents may not
use this application to replace, for any reason, an existing Permanent Resident Card that is expired or will expire within
90 days.
NOTE: Conditional permanent residents (for example, CR1, CR2, CF1, CF2) who obtained their status through marriage
or entrepreneurship are issued a Permanent Resident Card for two years. When a conditional permanent resident’s status
is within 90 days of expiration, the conditional permanent resident is ineligible for a replacement conditional resident card
and must file a petition to remove the conditions, as follows:
1. If you became a conditional permanent resident through marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and
your two-year conditional permanent resident status is expiring within the next 90 days, file Form I-751, Petition to
Remove Conditions on Residence".... Does it mean i shouldnt file for the I-90.. I have only the front copy of my green card before it got missing...
