Evidence of right to reside in the US

I've sent away my AOS packet, have recieved my physical NOAs and have my biometrics appt coming up very shortly. My question is, my K1 visa expires on the 26th of this month, so what becomes my document to say I am allowed to be in the States? Like, something I can carry that says I am not over staying I am allowed to be here while my AOS is processed?

Many thanks in advance,

Kali

Your K1 visa is no longer valid. It is a one time use. Once you entered the US with it, it is completed and no longer active.

Since you have gotten married and filed for AOS you are OK.

I think she may be referring to the i94 rather than the K1 itself.

I carried around a copy of my marriage certificate and the NOA1 and biometrics receipt.  I never needed it, but I guess it was my only way to demonstrate that the "overstay" was legally authorized :-)

Of course, just don't leave the US or you will abandon the pending AOS application.

As everyone else stated, and is a misconception, the K-1 was dead upon entry and you were legally here with the I-94.

Carry the NOA1's for AOS and as suggested even a marriage certificate. My partner also carries his passport and such just in case.

As stated above your K1 visa was not valid as soon as you entered the country with it, but that ability to stay under is valid for 90 days.

As you have already filed for AOS and received your NOAs then you are fine and you can use the NOA1 showing thst you did file for AOS and you are good. Did you file for AP and EAD as well or just AOS?

Yes I did file for AP and EAD at the same time :) Hopefully that shows it's face soon.

Thank you all for your prompt answers, I will make a wee baggie with copies of my passport and entry stamp, the I-94, the marriage cert and my NOAs. Hopefully won't be needed but will be important to have.
