HI

I gave my interview on 7th of March 2017, the consular said all paper work was in order but he only wanted proof of exit from Dallas, Texas and that he will request it from some one and can take up to 1 month.

I received a call on 12/03/2017 asking me to provide additional court records and bring it on 14/03/2017. On that day I delivered the documents they requested court records and they also asked for my passport/white paper and told me that they I will be receiving a phone call from impost after 5 to 10 days.

Today is 6/4/2017 (30 days) and so far I have not received any feedback, the online status date changed 3 times but still in AP mode.

Can some one please share their experience as why it takes that long? What is the normal processing time for AP?

Need to hear Good News!

There is no normal AP processing time, it can last from weeks to months to years

If they were simply waiting on some documents from you, then AP is generally cleared up pretty fast, but if you are also in AP pending security checks then it can extend quite a while

No one can accurately predict how long your AP will take

If you would like for your own sanity, contact the embassy once every 90 days for an update, but keep in mind they will certainly contact you if they need anything

They called me that day and asked me a few more questions, like a phone interview. Then I asked the guy, when will you issue visa? He said next 5 days you will receive it. Been back to Dallas, and also got my LPR card. The nightmare is over, thanks for asking

I am just shocked that it takes this much time. did they keep the passport all that time? my husband did his interview on Monday and they took his passport and gave him a green slip. I am American but he is not.

If they kept his passport that means they will perform some administrative tasks like verifying  what has stated in your application. In my case it took 35 days to return the passport back to me.some of these queries have to be directed to department of state and they run checks a second time for vetting purposes, recently this has been a trend after Trump has taken the office. All we need is patience, and everything would be fine. 👍 Now after getting the green card I have a dilemma "how can I get paid same as I get paid in Abu Dhabi" when relocating back to Dallas.

I see your point. this is why my husband don't wan to relocate to the state at the moment. there is a difference in salaries between the two countries and the tax also makes it worse in the U.S.

Hi, Solution is simple once he gets a green card he can travel there to make a landing, once he receives hos green  card by mail he can visit the states again and file for a I-131 (Re-entry permit, this is valid for 2 years) please see i-131 instructions on line as applicant need to be present there to give bio-metrics. USCIS issues this permit multiple times depends on apporvals
