A 26 YO Egyptian Daughter of An American

Hi everyone, I have a situation and I hope I can find some helpful answers/ guidance here.

I'm a 26 year-old Egyptian daughter of an American citizen, my mom was was born and raised in the U.S till she was 7, and then she went to Egypt and has been living there since then. She only visited the U.S once in 2001, and that is it. She doesn't have social security number/ does have but cannot find it, and also has an Egyptian passport.

My father is Egyptian as well, and I have another brother who is 22, Egyptian too.

A little background about us; my father is a professor at the faculty of medicine, I'm an HR Specialist at a huge multinational company in Cairo, and my brother is a recent graduate of a prestigious private university in Cairo.

What we want briefly, is to start the journey (regardless of how long/ exhausting it might be) to issue green card and eventually citizenship of U.S, if possible. We are all well-educated and we already have nice jobs here but we are looking to improve the standards of our lives and also contribute positively to the community we live in.

We tried to ask a few American and Egyptians lawyers and they always ask for a huge amount of money to simply answer the question, so we have been searching online. We are willing to take whatever steps required to get the ball rolling and we are looking forward to seeing some progress in our situation.

Please advise on how to proceed, any guidance would be most appreciated.

Thanks

It doesn't appear that your mother meets the residence requirements to directly confer citizenship to you or your brother.  She could file petitions for al of you but because of your ages it will takes years ( about 8 )  for you children to get a green card.  When she petitions your father that will be about a year.  The issue will be the affidavit of support.

This is the most solid advice you'll get

The issue of affidavit of support couldruin the oppotunity. You need a sponsor in US that makes enough so you would not be a financial burden of the state. You have none at this juncture

Okay... can you explain a bit further? She moves back and then what? Do we move with her? How long would she need to stay there?

She moves and petitions you and your family.  Itll be a 8-13 year wait should the visa category not be scrapped entirely soon.

What if she moved there and we also went there through a tourist/ student visa? Would that make things easier?

No, that would be a visa fraud.

Not to mention highly unlikely you'd have a tourist visas in those circumstances.

To to mention you'd have to maintain a legal status until your visa become available.

Which would be .. well, impossible.
