My friend file for her husband to get a green card to come live with her. He had his interview and picked up his visa in Jamaica. Once he picked up his visa he told her he didn't want her he only wanted a visa. He hasn't gotten a green card as yet nor has he been admitted into the states. Is there anything she can do to stop him from entering and getting a green card

Wish this could go on some sort of a sticky on this forum about con men.

But what a dumb (word removed - VJ Moderation) he turned out to be.

I'd suggest also contacting the embassy that issued the visa as they have the ability to revoke it prior to entry into the US.

Thank you..shes doing everything everyone is suggesting she do...

Sorry this happened to your friend. Hopefully she is jumping on it asap as you say because if he can get his own ticket he can still enter the country and just be illegal, which is prob his plan. And like someone mentioned, if she can alert CBP, he can be denied entry. If she doesn't withdraw the I-864, if he reaches, I believe she will be considered responsible for him since it is an affidavit of support. I don't have any facts on that for sure tho. And hopefully it can be derailed and his sorry behind will not be able to get a visa in the future bc his file will be notated.

Good that your friend is taking all the advice. Obviously, she should save all the messages of his admission. I agree with contacting the embassy that issued the visa.

Good luck to her.

I say alert CBP to the clown, and call the Kingston embassy to report it

he must be illiterate thinking he can outsmart ppl that quickly . He will

con some othr female there for a ticket. Frequent cities with Jamaicans

entering is Mia/FtL/Orlando, JFK/LAG, ATL, Baltimore, LAX I would call

CBP at all these locatiions & fax his photo  & the info to them then file

for a divorce, show him who is smarter...move on ,theres still good ppl

out there in the world.

That is unbelievable, I'm really sorry for you friend. I guess this is part of the reasons why we all have to go through so much checking and scrutiny, But as Jawaree said "...theres still good ppl

I'm agree with both, is there any kind of post collecting and warning others about this kind of situations? how to be aware of that kind of scam's and also giving out solutions to the victims of it.

Nothing that I know here on VJ, but common sense should prevail. People need to research their overseas partners BEFORE starting the visa process. Friend's husband is an idiot for spilling the beans before setting foot in the US.

She should have contacted the kingston embassy by now with his details and confession to stop him at the airport, or by CBP.
