I just received an update from USCIS (email alert) saying

"On March 23, 2017, we destroyed your card for Receipt Number EACxxx, that you returned to us with a letter of explanation."

I looked back in my archives and that's the receipt number for the EAD I got back in 2010 for my OPT. It expired in 2011 and was sent back in 2014 when I applied for AOS, and apparently they waited almost 3 years and then destroyed it? Kind of random.

Has anyone ever received this notice before?

They finally found it under an ex-employees desk? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wouldn't even worry about it.
