Hey Guys,

Just wanted to know if there is anyone in F4 category residing in Trinidad and how long on average does it take to get NOA?

Visa approvals for F4 can be from a few months to 5 years. For the beneficiary to actually receive a visa will take around 12 - 15 years or more.

From filing to visa-in-hand, I'd say closer to at least 15 years, personally. Maybe longer.

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

My PD is March 30th 2007.  

 Does NVC actually work with the visa bulletin?? I know of a two cases where an immediate relative (parent) was petitioned and they got through in 12 months from date of petition to getting immigrant visa number.

An immediate relative of a USC has a visa available immediately since their is no cap on the number of visas issued for that category. So they only have the I-130 + visa processing to go through...no waiting for a visa. For immigration visa purposes, a sibling is not considered an immediate relative. See https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/family-preference.html.

 

A quick estimate shows that a PD of 3/30/2007 with become current around August 2020 (http://www.myprioritydate.com/). Keep in mind this is only an estimate...the visa bulletins are the official source to go by.

Just confirming what geowrian posted. Parents, which are in the IR category, are in a higher category than siblings. Take some time and read through the link he provided and familiarize yourself with the categories. This is also all subject to change.
