Invitation for sister while on AOS

Hello, all

 

i am not sure if there's a subject like that and if there is, please direct me to it and disregard the subject. I apologize if I didn't see it

 

i am doing AOS through marriage. We are having an official ceremony in May this year. I want my sister to be there, being a bridesmaid. I want to send her an invitation when she's going for her interview, thinking it could help. Now I am aware that with the invitation, the consulate wants to see the legal status of the one inviting. I am adjusting and having our interview in the middle of next month. We want to get the visa out of the way. Now what would I send to prove my legal status here? The NOA for the I-485 that I'm adjusting status or would I just send her a copy of my valid EAD? Thanks for your time, guys

07/09/2016 - Received notice for Biometric appointment (dated 07/02/2016)

07/19/2016 - Biometrics appointment at ASC Brooklyn

08/03/2016 - RFIE was mailed to me

09/01/2016 - Response to RFIE sent

09/07/2016 - "Response to USCIS' request for evidence rec'd; SR for EAD

09/12/2016 - called for an Expedited EAD

09/14/2016 - Received an email saying "Application under review". No supporting documentation sent.

09/27/2016 - Online notification for a 2nd RFIE (? What AGAIN!!!)

10/05/2016 - RFIE Response sent overnight (I pray it's the last one ??)

10/07/2016 - USCIS started working on my case again

10/14/2016 - EAD card went in production, AP approved

10/21/2016 - Received approval by mail for AP (where's my EAD ??)

03/10/2017 - Received an USCIS Letter for interview 

04/13/2017 - Interview at Federal Plaza NYC. No paper, no result

04/29/2017 - Card Production Ordered

05/01/2017 - Case Approved

05/02/2017 - Card was Mailed to Me (called for tracking number next day afternoon 

05/04/2017 - Card in hand 🎊🎉🍾

01/17/2019 - Sent ROC packet to USCIS, TX

You could send a copy of the NOA and any information relevant showing you're in the process.

 

Don't know if any of that will actually help her to obtain a tourist visa but guess doesn't hurt to try.

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Thank you. I know an invitation is not necessary. I guess it gives me a piece of mind that everything on my part that could've been done I did.

Are you adjusting from a K1, the Consulate will know because they issued you with the visa.

No. I came here on a student visa in 2010. Started adjusting while on OPT. Haven't applied for any other visas

My sister came to visit while my AOS was processing, and I still didn't have an interview date. Her visa depends less on your status and more on hers - can she show enough ties to her country? 

Of course, it will also depend on fraud levels for the country she comes from.
