I married a woman through a k1 visa and brought her daughter about 10 months later on a k2 visa.  My step daughter is her now and I'm a little confused about what forms I need to file now and what the fees will be.  For instance I think I need an I485 but not sure if the fee is 750 or 1140.  Also I'm tryingnot sure What supporting documents do I need with these forms (ie I485 needs copy of marriage certificate and 797 only or more?) If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.  Thank you.

hi

did you already file for your wife, the lower cost of the i485 is only if you would be processing both petitions at the same time. the lower cost for a child is because you would be filing another i485 for spouse at the same time

then you will have to pay the full cost for the i485

you will need to submit copy of marriage certificate and child's birth certificate, if it not in English, you will need to attach a translation into English of said document, plus the proof of the k2 visa

the rest of the forms are the same ones you submitted for your wife, so you already know the process

hi

of course there are other forms, the same forms you filled out for your wife, such as the i864, the i131 and the i765

I don't know if you needed to do the medical or with the medical that was done for the k2 was enough

I had an attorney do all the paperwork for my wife.  I was trying to handle all this on my own.  My stepdaughter is already here in the USA I thought she only needed the I485 with supporting documents and filing fee.

no,

same process and same forms as your wife, you are her sponsor, so you need to file the affidavit of support for her, the i864,

the other forms are free as well as the i864, there is no cost, the i131 in case she needs to travel, the i765 even though she won't work, she can be legal in the country and also apply for a social security number before she gets her GC
