Tourist visa vs k1

first of all, you can't bring your fiancé on a tourist visa, he must apply on his own and show strong ties to his country

second, even if he got a tourist visa, it is fraud to come to the US to adjust status, you could marry him, but he would have to return to his country and you file the CR1, spousal visa which can take  up to a year

so the fastest way for him to come is the K1

The name of the visa should be the biggest clue here. Tourist visa is for tourists. Fiance visa is for fiances.

Assuming you want your fiance to come over to the US, get married and be with you - fiance visa (k1) is the right choice.

Unless you don't mind committing a fraud, then have her apply for the tourist visa. It's illegal. It's risky, especially these days.

Of course she can come on tourist visa and get married, but after that you have to say your goodbyes for about 10 - 12 months.

That's fair. But that's the legal way to do it. Nobody would (or can on VJ) help you with doing it illegally.

The other option is to marry then do a CR-1. Those are your options for your fiance to immigrate to the US.

I didn't like the K-1 fees either but I rather did it the legal way to be with my then-fiance/now husband than to plan something not-so-legal.

Tourist-visa is obviously for tourist things, not to marry and stay. But if you really want to pursue that path because it's cheaper; make sure to tell the interview officer your complete plan. Bet you get the visa right away.

I understand you guys. But the thing is it seems so hard because I'm not currently living in the us and don't have an address or can show proof of employment or stuff like that

Okay, but "hard" isn't an excuse for illegal. However, you don't need to live in the US for a K-1. Technically, you don't even need to show US domicile (which is a pretty low bar compared to residence) unless you are the sponsor on the I-134. I'm not sure if the embassy in Sweden permits having a sponsor other than the petitioner off-hand, but if so, then you can find somebody else to be the I-134 sponsor.

Once married in the US and you file for AOS, then you must be a sponsor for the I-864 (and therefore have domicile) even if you need a joint sponsor.

We understand, but USCIS won't.

If you want to bring your girl to live with you in the US, you have to stop making excuses like "I don't want to do legal way, because it's hard" and move yourself to the US, find an apartment and find a job. There is no way around it, you know. If you want to hear some good news, K1 fees are not that bad. Wait until you will have to file together for her green card. (which btw, gotta be done no matter if you pick K1 or B2)

So that means you commit fraud?  If that's expensive then you better rethink the rest of the process because this is not a cheap process at any stage. Just cause you don't want to pay the money doesn't give you the right to commit fraud.

Everyone in this forum is doing the ''hard, unsure and expensive process'' It's definitely not what we would prefer in terms of time and cost, there's a lot of heartache, frustration and you miss your fiancé or spouse a lot,  but unfortunately it's the legal way. Moving to a certain country means we should abide to their laws whether we like it or not.

Good luck on your journey!
