I believe just one has been approved (form VJ list - and it was in Dec/16).. not sure though,

CSC has been unbelievably slow since November. We have been stuck ever since, very few approvals, they are still processing april and May, really hard to understand.

At first I thought it had something to do with some possible new guidelines from the new government, but then VSC is approving a lot lately (and I mean a LOT, just check the lists), so it couldn't be that. CSC is really slow for some unknown reason.

VSC processing time shows Dec/2015, but in reality they are processing Feb and March already. Soon enough if things dont change they will catch up to CSC. Sad (for us Cal filers),

Thanks for the reply. I just saw that! It is ridiculous why we have to suffer waiting this long. I find myself just keep on looking for updates. :( I have a question. When they sent us the Noah saying we have 1 yr extension is that from the time our 2 yr go expires?

Am in the waiting zone too and stressed to the bone about it. Websites say CSC still processing may 14 but i don't believe it bcos its been there for over 3 months now. I think it expire on the date your 2 yr expires.

The 1 year extension that your NOA mentions IS good for 1 year after your GC expires. If you haven't been approved one month before that date, you need to make an appointment at a USCIS office to get an I-551 stamp in your passport that extends your proof of status for another year.

Notice that I said "proof of status" - you are still a conditional permanent resident as long as your case is at USCIS. You are not "out of status" or "illegal" at any point in this process, until and unless your application is rejected. However, if you wish to leave the country and return, or, in some states, get a drivers' license or a new job, you need to provide proof of your legal status. That's what your green card is for, and what the NOA letter provides, and (if necessary) what the I-551 stamp in your passport provides.

I know it's frustrating and sometimes stressful. But our I-751 petitions are considered to be low priority by the USCIS precisely because we are not out of status at any time during the processWe continue to be legal residents, who are authorized to work, to leave the country and return, and we still should have all of the rights we had when our green cards were unexpired. It's a nuisance, but it's a fairly minor inconvenience as compared to people who are separated from their loved ones waiting for a visa, or those who are adjusting status from a non-immigrant visa, who can't work or leave the country until they achieve legal status.

Worst case scenario we need to make an appointment to get a stamp in our passport. Yes, it's a pain, but there's nothing else we can do!

Is your timeline updated?

Yes, I have been approved already. I am a June 20 filer for ROC. My husband received a call from an immigration officer last week verifying if we still lived at the same address. 3 days later, we received the approval letter in the mail. Now, we're just waiting for my permanent green card!

Hang in there! Hopefully they start working on June filers really soon!
