Not been able to secure an interview date in Nairobi

Hi everyone,

i must say that i really find  this VJ very helpfull. now kindly advice me the fact i've not been able to an interview date since the start of feb. in Nairobi.

Exactly what stage are you at? Already cleared NVC and embassy infact does have your petition? Have they contacted you at all? Are you supposed to schedule the interview yourself or does the embassy there give you a date?

 

Each embassy works a bit different as to how they handle petitions and interview scheduling.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Timeline

Consulate in Nairobi sent me instructions to do the booking and then I pay the fees afterwards but the online system is telling me no consulate appointment for Nairobi. I don't know if that is the case with other consular.

Hello,

You have to pay the visa fees before you are able to schedule an appointment. You can pay through PostBank or MPesa. After you have paid the fees, you should check the website several times a day to see if an appointment opens up. We finally found an open appointment in November, and our interview is scheduled for March 6th, so it seems there is generally around a 4 month wait from the time when an appointment opens up.
