Backpacking while waiting for NOA2

Hello everyone

 

My husband and I have filed our I-130 about a month ago and we have already received our NOA1 stating our case will be transferred to Nebraska. We are already consular processing our case but was wondering if anyone has ever backpacked for a longer time than 3 months while waiting for their NOA2? Any advice?

Advice about what exactly?

Advice as in when they give you your consulate appointment how can you tell them "oh i'm in Croatia" to change the appointment? Hope this makes sense

Can you tell us a little more about yourself? Are you both living overseas and doing direct consular filing? If not and you have to go through the NVC too... I would say you've got several months ahead of you.

From your timeline it looks like you've submitted your application to a US lockbox and are NOT going to file via direct consular filing, is this correct? Nebraska Service Center's current processing time is anywhere from 5-7 months. It's always possible that your application may be approved much sooner, but it's highly unlikely. I would recommend that you have someone check your mail on a regular basis and if there's a letter from USCIS (either acceptance or an RFE) they can contact you at that point. There is a high probability you have nothing to fear, but I would recommend having someone check your mail on a semi-regular basis (the USCIS website has been known to sometimes not update).

Yes! So sorry I left this out...both my husband and I are living in Argentina and consular processing is completely different from consular filing because here in argentina we cannot file our case directly with the consulate instead we mail to Chicago and we are given an appointment at the embassy here in Argentina.

Yes we sent it to Chicago lockbox because in argentina we cannot file our case directly with the embassy we are given an appointment with our interview  Thank you so much for this information
