B2 visa info needed from Ghana (merged)

Hello everyone 

My husband is a public figure in Ghana, which that info can be viewed online by any CO or by the general public ( I won't release his name for privacy reasons) . We have plans for him to visit my family here as both my parents are ill with my dad being wheel chair bound so they are unable to visit Ghana  with me however it's important he visits to meet my family face to face as well as my close net friends whom he's only have seen via FaceTime . I'm reading on here mostly b2 visa in Ghana are denied. My question is does being a public figure in a country increase the chances of being able to visit the US?

I doubt that he will get a B2 visa with having a wife in the USA, they will assume he will not return.
Worth a try if he is a high profile individual with strong ties to his country but having a wife in the US is even a stronger tie

He has events that have been publicize that will be taken place this summer in Ghana so he has to come back. Again those are publications that were listed in the local newspapers and online . We shall see, praying for the best

If by "public figure" you mean that he is a successful businessperson, celebrity artist, national politician etc., then yes, it will help him get a visa. He shouldn't expect that the officer will know who he is or take the time to google his name.

 

Also doesn't mean that he will get a visa for the reasons mentioned. If you both live in Ghana, have been married for several years, and he is doing well financially he should be a good candidate.

Thank you CO for your input . Yes he's a celebrity artist . I asked him to bring any published articles about himself , his most recent article for his event that took place and the next event he'll be doing this summer . Also I told him to screenshot his verified facebook page with over 100k followers , also info from his business associated with his occupation. 

 

I live in the US  as a working class citizen as I prefer to not being in the spotlight in Ghana. I made that decision after he posted our photo and he received thousands of likes and comments on his page and requested for interview . Also after he wore his wedding band at a video shoot . Blogs in Ghana published stories about him being married so I prefer to stay out of the spotlight ( just sideinfo)

I'm sorry but I know someone personally who was in the presidential list and was denied. That doesn't count anymore unless he's been to this country several times and other countries as well.

Sorry to say but when my husband went for his interview, we met miracle films, van vicker and others who I'm 100% certain have traveled numerous times and will never want to stay in this country got denied. The tourist visa seem not to work anymore or let me say works for a very few. Good luck tho

Usually when there is an application for an immigrant visa in place getting a B1/B2 becomes almost impossible. Because they assume there is already the "intent to immigrate". But it is worth giving it a shot

Like Caykay1 told before, nothing is guaranteed.

As someone who wants to remain private, you have quite a lot of detail to give about this "public figure" but not a name? *shrug* public figure with DIY wife *shrug*

 

For example:

Lil Win has been coming and going for quite sometime now. His career is booming and he wouldn't have a life here. He shooting a movie every other week, so someone like that can get a visa due to his strong ties back home.

That was just an example.

Now, a 100K does not equal strong ties. But if he has things going on for him then he has a shot.

Couldn't he meet your family when he comes for his show in the summer?

my last 2 advice to you:

1. He better not lie about been married

2. He better not lie about been married to a US citizen

The interview is about him and what he is coming to do and what will make him return to Ghana after his visit. if he has any track record for travelling outside Ghana, he should have it at the interview.
