AOS INTERVIEW - WHAT DID THEY ASK YOU?

So, Since I'm in the middle of preparing EVERYTHING for my Interview, For all of those who already went through this, I would like to know.... What did they ask you exactly ?\

I'm a little nervous

It is natural to be a little nervous, but don't stress yourself out too much.  For our interview, my wife was also a little nervous at the start of the interview, but the IO simply started by verifying identities (hers and mine), then went in to verifying the information from the I485 form including all the yes/no questions, my wife relaxed a lot then.  After that, the IO asked us a little of our relationship story and we shared our wedding album with her, we talked about family and friends, and our life together so far.  The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes.  Now don't be surprised if they don't give you an immediate decision, in our case she told us the interview results had to be reviewed by her supervisor, but she did tell us about the fact that this would be for a two year GC, so we would have to ROC in two years, so we felt pretty confident there were no problems, and in two days my wife's status changed to approved.  One note, we were never separated during the interview.

I wanted to make an update for those still preparing for the interview. I did post my full detailed account in this post

 

But here are the straight questions they asked: 

 

• Have you traveled outside the US since your arrival?  for me
• Have you applied for US residency before? for me
• where do you work? what do you do?  for my husband
• Have you sponsored anyone else before? for my husband
• How and when did you two meet? for both
• When did you start dating? for both
• She asked to see the original certified copy of  my husband's birth certificate and then asked if I had photocopy, I did have one so she took it.
• She asked where was I born  for me
• The first name of both my parents for me
• She asked if I was working.  for me
• She asked for my social security number  for me
• Then she asked if we brought any pictures for both
• Last, thing she asked was we had any other Proof that we were living together as a married couple  both

I had a super similar experience to Bill & Katya 

 

I was in and out of the building in an hour.  Including security/waiting/interview. 

 

A lot of verifying, she asked if we had any more evidence that we would like to add so I brought a couple of things. 

 

Like Bill & Katya, they didn't tell me we were approved right then and there.  But I think by the time I got home (I live 3 hours away from the USCIS office) my status online was switched to approved.  

 

I personally found this interview easier than the K1....and my K1 was pretty easy as well.
