Exactly 10 working days after my fiance submitted evidence that they asked for at his interview, He got an email stating that it was not sufficient, they wanted birth certificates to show that his kids were his, so he sent the BC and now they say that's not sufficient and that they were sending him back his passport, and that they needed baptism records and school records and he should submit that, but do not send his passport back until requested. Has any of u ever experienced this?

Sorry to hear that, sounds like you are in AP until they review exactly what they want. Has he submitted the other documents they requested?

Are kids immigrating too? My fiance was asked to pay and to do the DNA test during his daughter medical, it was expensive but it was before interview and all well.

Not good sign when they don't keep the passport or don't ask to send it back together with the additional information, means they are not sure to approve, sorry

or they are not sure to approve the visa very soon, that's why they don't keep the passport

Did he not get the birth certificates from NPC? That's like the only verified BC embassy wants to see.

They sent back passport because they don't know how long ypu will take to fix this matter and better him having his Passport then them.

Just get them what they ask for.

Don't be surprised if a DNA test is asked for next.

There are designated doctors and labs for DNA tests and swabs.

After spending a lot of money on one they have not approved they could turn around and easily refuse them.

If one knows the list of accepted labs and doctors taking the swabs then perhaps it would be acceptable to them

without being asked for tests.

If there are other issues then again it is a waste of money and they would return the petition. Better to wait for an official

request.

OP, did you ever file a previous petition ? I saw you married in 2011, that is a long journey, ours took 5 years

being denied our first K1 and we re filed.

Hopefully they will accept the baptismal and school records and approve.

I don' think he got them from the NPC. and why would they want a DNA test if the kids are not traveling here until later? They usually ask for that when the kids are traveling with the parent. I'm hoping school records and receipts will be enough cos he says at their church kids under 12 are not baptised and his kids are 3 and 7.

It happens quite frequently in Lagos and Accra that DNA is requested or documents looked at deeper, even for children

not immediately following.

Many try to get children of relatives to immigrate, claiming them as their own and documents are fabricated so DNA

tests are done. Why can't he get the BC at the NPC ? He should get them there and the school records.

He should be able to get a BC from NPC for just 500 naira at any government hospital,and i will advice he wait for further instructions from the embassy,and OP your timeline is very confusing have you filled a k1 before this??
