Invalid URL for mailing to Consulate

Hello everyone,

I'm on a K1 visa process in Montreal. Our case was approved and yesterday I received a letter from Consulate General of the USA from Montreal. They want me to send a proof of my Canadian citizenship (I was born in France but I'm also Canadian since June 2015) by email.

They provide a link in the letter: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

This link is invalid, so I tried to find an email somewhere on the consulate's website and I found "montreal-iv-dv@state.gov" in the contact us section, question regarding immigrant visa applications.

I sent my certificate of citizenship there and just received an automatic answer saying that the time of processing email is 8 weeks... and that we better not try to call them...

I'm really discouraged about this invalid link :crying:

Did someone have to deal with the same issue? Or maybe even have a right link to send?

That would be so helpful...

Thank you thank you

Cecile

Thank you for your answer FF,

Although I thought I found the right link for a public inquiry form https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/public-inquiry-form/

The only problem is that there is no way to add my scans in attachment or even to copy/paste it in the inquiry form...

On your link FF, it says that it's informations for US citizens so I wonder if it's the good mail.

Anyway, I think I will stop stress tonight and try to call there tomorrow :)

Great news this morning! I got an answer! In this mail they give me the link for packet 3!!

What a relief, I was already planning to go directly there with a copy of my certificate, and make a sitting or a hunger strike :)

Anyway, if someone has the same issue, with an invalid url, here is the mail I used: montreal-iv-dv@state.gov

It's working, and they answer quickly (unlike the phone).

Good luck to everyone

C.
