How long is the waiting time from N02 and the Interview?

Hi there. I am a Canadian moving to the US soon on a K1-Fiance Visa. About 3 weeks ago we got a letter in the mail saying our petition has been approved and is now being sent to the NVC from there to Montreal Consulate. I haven't received my checklist in the mail yet...just wondering when I should expect my interview date to aproximately be?

This is very embassy specific :) As a first step, if you haven't already done so, you can call NVC and see if you have received a case number. That's the number you will be using in contact with your embassy.

For Canada specific info ask in the local forum. Good luck to you

Hi there,

Back in 2012 it took 17 days from the day my petition was approved to the day the consulate received the petition. Here is a breakdown of my experience:

Included is from the Consulate receipt of petition to when I had my interview as well.

Sep 25, 2012:NOA2 Approved!! Praise the Lord!!! 6 mths 5 days from NOA1-NOA2 (Day 195)
Oct 2, 2012:NVC received petition (Day 202)
Oct 5, 2012:NVC sent out petition to Montreal Consulate (Day 205)
Oct 5-8, 2012:Tracy came to Canada to visit and meet my family
Oct 11th: Called DOS, Consulate has received petition (Day 211)
Oct 16th: Received Packet 3 by email (Day 216)
Oct 23rd: Mailed out Packet 3 (Day 223)
Oct 26th:Received Packet 4 by email (Day 226)
Oct 29th:Paid Visa Fee (Day 229)
Nov 11th:MRV Receipt # activated,sched. interview:Feb 26,2013 (Day 252)
Jan 7th, 2012:Medical Exam (Day 309)
Feb 26th, 2013:Interview.....APPPROVED!!! (Day 359)

Jun 11, 2019 (Day 311): Interview Date

July 01, 2019 (Day 327) : Oath Ceremony I AM NOW A US CITIZEN!!!!

 

FROM K-1 PETITION SENT TO OATH CEREMONY WAS ABOUT 7 YEARS 4 MONTHS

For Montreal, if they have available appointments, it normally takes 2-3 months from NOA2 to interview. You pick your own interview date.
