i just had my interview today and my green card was verbally approved, and received a notice saying i am recommended to approval.

also the officer made me fill out a form I-407 after the interview and she told me to give it to another officer when i am done, which i did ( For abandoned green card ) , hence i had one before long time ago.

she only gave me the form and no instructions.

i filled out the form and entered my current name INSTEAD of the name from my previous marriage as it shows on the card

i looked up the instructions online and it says FULL LEGAL NAME: enter aliens name as it appears on the permanent residence card if the document is present or information is known...

i dont know what to do, i haven't had any online updates yet. i am wondering how i can talk to the the officer whom adjudicated my application .

please anybody if you have any advice , i ll really appreciate it.

If you need to speak with the Officer who interviewed you and is working on your case- your best option is to go back to the infopass/interview location local office... You probably have to make an appointment online through infopass and select something like the "other help" option for your case. I doubt you can get in if you just go there and attempt a "walk in" (thats just showing up and asking to get in with out an appt). Sometimes people are let in for emergencies, sometimes they are not... So if there are no appointments in the next week or two- you can try to go there and do a walk-in...

When you get there, you would tell the person in the window what happened and they would be able to go back and speak with the Officer and tell them whats going on. They could give you a new 407 to fill out. Youd probably have to sit and wait a bit while they go back to talk to them, they may be busy with someone elses interview. If the Officer is not there- then youre kinda stuck, cause the best they can do is leave a message for the Officer in the mail box system of the computer thing. Then the Officer will call you the next day or mail you something and youre going to have to come back to fill it out- so thats 2 trips.

Theres also the chance the Officer calls you before you get to go there if they are processing your stuff and see its wrong. Their number is blocked usually in some weird way like all 000 000 0000 or 9s or stuff from what Ive seen. But I dont know, your phone can show it a different way maybe?

Congrats on your approval!!!!

You can try to go tomorrow>

Tell the guard you were there for an interview on X date and you filled this out wrong and wanted to give it to the window person. Be nice and see if they let you in. Some place just will not let you in, some will. Try it. You have an appt on Tues so thats not that long from now. Then I already wrote what can happen inside-

btw.. thanks for congratulating me... i just hope they don't think i am trying to abandon my new green card, hence i haven't got any updates on my case yet, hope the process for form I-407 doesn't go quick where they can still intercept it, if they can.. i am worried to death, just when i thought it was finally over, i had to make a stupid mistakes which could cause me to have to go thru the same process again or worse. i am so mad at myself.
