Typo in a thank you letter

Hi everyone,

I just moved here in August and recently got my ead approved so I started applying to jobs. I had my first job interview today for a receptionist position and I think everything went well,they asked about my availability for a second interview and said they'd get back to me with the exact time. When I got back home I was drafting a thank you letter for the interviewer wondering if I should send it and accidentally pressed tab on gmail and sent it. After that I noticed it had a small typo ("it was a pleasure to be have the chance to..."), basically forgot to delete a word in a sentence I changed.

I'm so nervous now wondering if that could make them not go ahead with the second interview.

I don't know why, looking for a job here really stresses me out, I feel very awkward and out of place and second guessing everything I do and my husband really wants me to find a job soon, so it doesn't help.

Any opinions on how bad it is?

I think you'll be fine. Most people don't even do that muchto follow-up, so you're already ahead of the game. Take a deep breath, relax, and let us know if you get the job!

04/2017- Fourth visit to Nigeria.  K1 officially denied. 
04/25/2017- NOA1 for 2nd K1.
07/27/2017- Case transferred to TSC.
11/17/2017- Case transferred back to CSC.
01/16/2018- NOA2!! (266 day wait)
03/08/2018- Interview (AP)
05/03/2018- VISA APPROVAL!!!
05/14/2018- Visa issued
05/18/2018- Visa picked up
05/25/2018- HE'S HOME!!! 💙💙💙

Thank you =), I was trying to make a nice gesture and feel like I shot myself in the foot. I guess I'm a tad anxious because I had the same job for 5 years at home so I haven't been to an interview in a while. Hopefully I hear back tomorrow.

When I've made typos, I send a corrected version as soon as possible afterwards, with a line on top that says "Please disregard the previous transmission, which had a typographical error in it."

Of course, it only took me many, many years to remember to type the other person's e-mail address as the last action in composing a draft e-mail! :bonk:

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yeah, never putting the email address while writing again lol. Still no contact from them, they asked if I had time for an interview tomorrow so I guess they're not gonna contact me. Might just be because I lacked experience in the field it was for and not the thank you letter. At least I learned something =p

I deal with so called "professionals" every day and some of the e-mails I get from them are atrocious in both grammar and spelling. I wouldn't worry about it, it happens all the time.

Hey guys, thank you for cheering me on. Turns out I got the call for the second interview for tomorrow just now :D so lesson learned, I really have to stop stressing myself out haha.

Perhaps more often than not, personnel (hiring) issues in companies can take a lot of time.

Hey guys, little update on my job search. The second interview went great, the interviewer told me he thinks I should be hired and he'll talk to my first interviewer,hopefully she'll agree. Just waiting for the offer now :D and my ead to arrive in the mail x.x
